ORVIS: Tom Rosenbauer Ties an Elk-Hair Caddis

This was in 360p and just shows how far Tom's own money and camera has improved the video quality. Though the content is just awesome. I have been tying forever and I just love hearing Tom talk about so many different aspects that it makes me rethink what I am doing with my own flies.

What many anglers don't realize that Al Troth's Elk Hair Caddis is one of the best emerging caddisflies there is to fish. Don't dress it with fly floatant and add a small size 10 split shot around 10" above the hook eye. Works as well as an X-Caddis, sometimes better! As a quick history note - Al first designed his Elk Hair Caddis as a wet fly, but found that elk hair was quite buoyant.
