Oh that’s why never listen to any of them when it comes to pain h if it comes to exposing to sound , they know absolutely nothing about it , didn’t study it , and don’t have it . If these guys don’t know anything about t they definitely don’t know anything about pain h . Only guys who know anything about it are neurotologists , neurologists, and otologists who had patients with it .
Wish I had never even went to the ENts when I got unstable Tinnitus. Going straight to quiet after demanding steroid injections to ears might have saved my life. 😞 but they all said stay off the internet horror stories... so ridiculous..now I am a internet horror story. Denying the truth to someone helps no one.
Hazel, thanks again for your continued support at these events. I was actually quite comforted by the openess to which researchers admit the gap in their knowledge. Perhaps one or two of them will go away and peruse some literature. That said, great to know early career audiologists are getting taught considerably more on the dreaded T.
I think there should be an immersive tinnitus experience for all researchers. Have them wear a device/AirPod that emits a tinnitus sound for 72 hours. At night, have them set the same tone up with a speaker beside their bed.
Thank you Hazel for your work, l am surprised and disappointed. Tinnitus is a common phenomenon which should interest more scientists.
This makes me worried about professionals knowing about hyperacusis and pain hyperacusis specifically…

Are you continue the research?
