In the novelization (and I believe in the original script, but I'm not 100% sure), when introducing the rifle to Ripley, Hicks remarks when showing reloading that "normally we're required to recover the mags; they're expensive." Maybe Hasbro was going for that extra degree of authenticity by making the magazines specialised in this fashion. :)
I can see why Nerf/Hasbro went with the color scheme they did with this blaster. If they made it closer to the actual movie, it’d look like a real gun.

This is a dream blaster and the coolest thing Nerf has ever made imo. The ultimate 'emotional response' blaster. Aliens is my favorite film ever and the Pulse Rifle is iconic and translates great into a blaster. So many cool features thats everything id want in a toy nerf pulse rifle. The mag thing is def a dumb choice by Hasbro but doesnt ruin it for me. And I actually like the colors it makes it look like an OG N-Strike blaster which is super cool. You can also easily open and mod this blaster and make it into a competitive beast if you wanted to.

@@johncook4407 there's the Vulcan EBF 25 that could be used as a heavy stubber, and that's without the creativity. But man I do hope we get a bolter or plasma rifle NERF gun.
It's an Elite 2.0 Turbine on the inside, so you get that amazing mechanism... but with screws! Too bad the long barrel drags the FPS down a bit, but it doesn't matter with a prop.
It's super easy to modify mags I did 4 of the 18 dart mags with cutters and sand paper. Just need to cut 2 little grooves on the sides and one big in front. Some people show how to in Reddit and TH-cam. The 22 dart banana mags are still a mystery as no one tried so far it seems and I don't have one.
Sometimes the review itself is just fun to watch, and you have a really complete, thorough structure to your reviews. I was never going to get this due to the exact same reason mentioned - I'm not going to pay for a 3D render and promises a year in advance, then once it's finally printed and in my hands, find out no other magazines work with it. Even plinkers get tired of reloading.
they made two versions of the pulse blaster from Mandalorian, if they can come up with a contract to continue using the aliens brand, they will probably do the same with this.

A lot of people have said it has an elite 2.0 turbines internals, so it's not too far off to say that any mods for the turbine are what to expect from the elite dart side, as for the mega dart launched it's literally just a mega jolt so a basic spring replacement will give it elite par or better

The thing I don't get about the stock is that the reason it can't be adjusted is because the space needed to make it adjustable is taken up by the batteries. My problem with that is that they probably could've made the carry handle a battery tray for AA batteries with no issues, thus freeing up that space, and allowing for an adjustable stock.
Petition for an actual shotgun with a mag fed system like the atlas but elite and the mag is where it is usually at. That would make me forgive all of Nerf’s sins
Picked this up, I'm in New Zealand. Had to ship it to the UK then ship to NZ. I feel no universal magazine use is a big misstep. I hear you can shave some of your other mags down to make them fit.

Yeah but once you mod mags to fit (which is easy) you can then adjust the ammo counter to match which is really cool. They did the hard part for us at least (making the ammo counter adjustable)
This blaster would be perfect if it came with two mags or just be compatible with other mags; if the bottom barrel was an internal mag to hold three Mega darts and if that groove on the top where the carry handle is, was storage for Mega darts.
I'm a big aliens fan and I like it, just wish it wasn't neon yellow, if I get one it will definitely be getting a paint job to look like the movie gun.
A theory for the magwell actually, is POTENTIALLY just so that it's smooth to yank a clip out and cram it back in. The guys designing this probably thought the little catch tab thing on the clips, would make it feel less smooth to just slide in, or some dumb crap. Honestly, the least they could've done is allow for the compatibility. I don't get why they thought this was a good idea, especially considering we're paying far too much for it to begin with. With some modwork though, easily a good way to get into HvZ, having what's essentially a Masterkey that's prebuilt. I'd wait for when they sell the less overcosted version though, which they are inevitably going to do, if the trend with the Mando Rifle indicates anything. ...Speaking of which, might pick one up, just so I can do some modification work on it. Seems like a fun toy.

Mega darts are actually pretty perfectly sized vs the movie props! Just wish it had an internal magazine rather than being front loaded
