NIRA Creekside

Welcome to NIRA, a campground next to the Manzanita Creek, at the trailhead to the San Rafael Wilderness. This campground was built as part of the New Deal projects after the Great Depression.
Surrounded by beautiful oak trees, the area is calm and peaceful, with the sounds of birdsong, crickets and frogs accompanying the burbling creek. It's a perfect place to remind us to slow down, listen and relax.
