They could have designed building that look similar to old ones but are modern by the structure... This could have been a better way to handle the situation, it would have attracted tourists as well, could have made Liverpool one of a kind city!

Definitely new construction is imp & local govt has to look at it. But this could have been planned better - rather than constructing the new buildings & stadium near the dock, could have been built in a suburban region or maybe more towards the center of the city, withour having to compromise the view/skyline of its port.

Of course we should save our ancient monuments or historical site. Today many places developing more due to UNESCO accreditation, so we must understand the value of accreditation and also the value of historical places.

Stone henge natural site nhi hai. Secondly stone henge solar events ko predict Kar sakta hai. It's not that ki sirf pathar khade hue hain.

In Western Europe almost every city is UNESCO site. In India, there are so many historical things in Kolkata alone including important cultural heritage, yet no recognition.

Yes, modern development is needed for creating new jobs but heritage sites preservation is also very very important. Govt. will follow the balanced approach because preservation of heritage sites will create jobs due to tourism and modern sites will change the people life style.
