Great films, from a time when our National Broadcasters truly had a remit to educate. That flute music just tells you straight away that this is education seventies style...
Those Talbot cars that are being made are pretty rare nowadays to say the least. I remember reading an article about the 'howmanyleft' website and reading that Horizons, Alpines, Solaras, Sambas were barely in double figures, and, that there was just one Tagora in the UK! There are a few more Sunbeams (thankfully) but it seems a shame that they've largely disappeared without a trace. I'm not a huge fan or anything, just saddened.
Very interesting. I was car mad as an 8-year old in 1980, and well remember seeing loads of Talbots on the road. Somehow you imagine that they're all still out there somewhere, but, like you say, it's down to a mere handful now.

oh shit! I'm back in primary school nostalgia feels
Excellent film. Skilled people who were used to hard work.
I've seen episodes of how crisps and ice cream were made. Its great to see how cars are made.
0:37 I WANT ONE!
I remember this when I was in infants school around 1982-3
There was one showing how the brakes on a Mk1 Ford Escort worked. Does anyone have that episode?
What's the name of the music at the start of the program ?
It's called High Life by Tany Turens.
due to BREXIT, this factory is now closed! Thanks a lot MAY!!!
Tony Blair was Prime Minister and Theresa May and Boris Johnson (the current Prime Minister) was in the Shadow Cabinet when Ryton closed
You can blame Brexit for a lot of things, but Peugeot ceased manufacturing in the UK way before then.
