I am so thankful they spent the money to get this back up and running after years of it being closed. The park would not be the same without this ride.

This ride ROCKS I rode it for the first time on Sunday and it’s SO awesome how fast the launch is. While Ghostrider is a longer, better, more complete ride, this was so much fun and a great number 2 in the park

This is the most powerful launch I’ve ever experienced. It left my soul in the station every time. I can’t wait to ride it again in August. It feels even stronger than old Dragsters launch.
It's not as fast as Dragster's old launch, but it reaches top speed more quickly. When you crunch the numbers, this delivers the more extreme acceleration of the two.
I absolutely LOVE the pure joy and excitement coming from Sarah riding a new coaster. It’s so adorable. You both have been doing this for years but you never lose that excitement. That is fantastic!😊

I’m heading to California next month for the first time in almost 20 years. I’m hoping I not only get to go to Knotts, but also ride this amazing coaster and more!

Hydraulic launch coasters are really good. I know it's short but stealth at thorpe is top notch!
Xcelerator has my current favorite launch. It’s on a whole other level than even the rest of the hydraulic launches I’ve ridden
I'm guessing you haven't ridden stealth? It's almost identical to accelerator but slightly stronger. Unfortunately it has horrible OTSR

@@diveloopthrills7613 the worst part is at the front the airtime hill at the end is strong so you're in the air then as you hit the brakes you fly forward and your balls get absolutely destroyed by the locking mechanism 😂

This coaster is my #1! It's sooo good!
The only hydraulic launch I've ever experienced and have close access to is Superman Escape's 0-100kmh launch on Superman Escape here in Australia. It may not as fast as Xcelerator, but the feeling of the hydraulic launch is so powerful and exciting; there's just nothing like it!
I love a good launch coaster and it looks pretty smooth with the new repaint!
It's so crazy that you guys have a HUNDREDS of credits and still get to have 1st time experiences especially on rides that are some people's home park favorites

I remember the first time riding this about 8 months ago and my brother and my friends Grayed out while I couldn't stop screaming obscenities. I came off the ride with my hands and legs shaking for like an hour.
When the ride started rolling back in preparation for the launch I couldn’t help but think of that one guy going “IM SUING YOU! STOP THE RIDE RIGHT NOW!”

Im lucky enough to have this essentially in my backyard (i live about 2 miles away) and its my most ridden coaster! i hope it stays for a LONNNNG time

kinda makes me wish Stealth had got the extended layout. Saying that, was still my fave UK coaster until Hyperia turned up.

Agreed, ejector airtime at the top of the tophat makes it better than Dragster & Kingda Ka
An average of 1.62 linear G launch, that's pretty crazy.
the fact that do-dodonpa was more than double that (3.27 g) is terrifying lol, I wish I could've ridden it

@@maxhagenauer24 and I've heard the part causing the injuries wasn't the launch but was instead the transition between the old track and the loop which if true makes it even sadder
@jumpydashgd4699 Yeah like that could have been fixed with literally 1 peice of track to be replaced could it not?
I really want to get out to Knotts! It’s nice to see that some of these hydraulic launch coasters are getting the TLC they need instead of just putting LSMs on them.

I have been riding Xcelerator ever since it opened back in June of 2002 and the launch back in its cearly years had a lot more force. The launch you experience now is still great but it was definitely a breath-taker back when it first opened.
I also remember when the purple train was painted yellow and the track was candy apple red. I was sad when the red color faded into a dull pink due to the sun and weather changes over the years.
But it's still a fantastic launch coaster.
I remember riding in the back row many years ago and it was such an intense ride.
As someone who went to cedar point for the first time in 2022... only to have it be closed down both days to rain, i never got to experience the original top thrill dragster.
Happy to see my second favorite ride at knotts still staying strong (ghostrider always be #1)

Chickened out on this ride every time I went as a kid, I regret it but I'm glad they clearly want to keep this ride running so hopefully I can get a ride someday.

Do you have any tips on getting over the fear of the hydraulic launches? Xcelerator is the only ride I fear at Knott’s and I would love to go on it someday.

Xcelerator has the most intense launch on any coaster I’ve ever ridden. Plus the layout with the 2 overbanked turns makes it feel more complete than TTD or Kingda aka which just have the top hat with no turns.

How does it compare to Storm Runners launch?
The brakes caught me off guard as much as the launch. I have to keep myself forward to brace for the severity of braking.

Ive never been on a hydraulic launch coaster, this looks crazy. Why are they so rare? Difficult to maintain?
Notoriously unreliable. Xcelerator has had periods where it has been down for more than a year.

I live in Long Beach (right on the other side of the county line with Orange County), which means I am right down the road from KBF.
Which means I've been on this great, beautiful, killer hydraulically-launched monster countless times. I'm glad that Knott's went all out to keep the legend alive, this is the world's first hydraulic-launch coaster, and Knott's is determined in keeping the legend alive, even with the makeover it has received.
Imd honestly be surprised if we didn’t see this ride undergo the same renovation that TTD did in the next few years or so.

stealths launch accelerates more but that looks like it does so much faster for some reason
The only problem with this coaster is the ops, 1 train, they need to add a second one to keep it rolling
