Musandam is located in the northeastern part of Oman peninsula projecting into the Strait of Hormuz, separated from the rest of the country by the United Arab Emirates. Musadam peninsula separates the Arabian gulf to the left and Gulf of Oman to the right. The Persian Gulf sometimes called the Arabian Gulf is a mediterranean sea in Western Asia and its coastlines are shared by UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Iran. The Strait of Hormuz is the world's most important oil chokepoint because of the large volumes of oil that flow through the strait.
The best time to visit Musandam is between October and March during winter. June to August are the hottest months. We visited on June where the temperature touched 40 degrees. Musandam can we accessed through Ras al Khaimah and just 3 hours’ drive from Dubai. The Omani Riyal is the currency used in Oman and is stronger than US dollar. However, UAE Dirham is also widely accepted.
