We walked through the rhema input I got from God on why we need to "Eat His words":
You are an eternal spiritual being developing in a temporary physical body.
Just like food nourishes your physical body, My word nourishes your spirit.
Just like a fetus needs good nutrition to develop properly and thrive in life, your soul needs a balanced diet to develop properly and thrive for eternity.
If the only input your soul gets is through your flesh, you will not grow to your full potential here, and your spiritual body will be limited forever.
Your days here are numbered, use them wisely and eat My Word.
    (From journaling 1/31)
We walked through some examples of folks being called to eat God's words, 4 types or forms of His word, and an initial definition of eating.
Jeremiah 15:16 - Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart.
    God’s Word
Spoken (Rhema) - Words Sent Forth From His Mouth
Written (Logos) - Truth / Structure / Order / Justice
Daily Bread (Mana) From Heaven - God’s Glory to Nourish The Faithful
Jesus - The Word Made Flesh - His Broken Body - Spiritual Bread
Eat: Bring in, break down, digest, absorb nutrients, discard waste
We reviewed examples of how prophets were asked to eat God's words and then use them to lead other folks back to God's agenda.
To better understand the analogy of eating God's word, we compared the process of eating physical food to eating spiritual food. Basically, We need to bring in God's word, break it down into messages, find relevance, then discover the basic truths and goodness they contain, embrace them in our thinking and convictions in our hearts, and then apply them to our thoughts, words, and actions so they become a natural part of us. Our eternal soul grows and strengthens as our inner nature undergoes the stresses of trials and rebuilds better and stronger based on good spiritual food.
We reviewed how God's word is spirit and brings life not only to your spirit but to your mortal flesh.
We reviewed how we are expected to progress from soft spiritual food to harder food, starting with basic topics like salvation to deeper topics like discipleship.
We went through the soft food logic chain so it was clear.
I offered a top 10 Truths to embrace as a baseline to work from.
We went through some questions to ask to see if your are eating any solid spiritual food yet?
We went through the concept of using the word of God as a mirror to see the nature of your inner self, your otherwise invisible soul.
We went through the concept of God giving us our Daily Bread - The manna God sent from heaven every morning. We are to be looking and focused on God to sustain us every day. Digesting His word every day is one way to stay focused on Him.
We went through the concept of Eating the Flesh of Jesus - Fully embracing the work He did on the cross, and joining Him in fellowship by sacrificing our earthly life for Him. He was the word made flesh, and when we join Him by sharing in His suffering for others, the Word becomes part of our flesh.
