- Using my Woodworking know how I designed and built this clothes folding machine to make it fun for my kids to fold their clothes. Not only is it fun but it will fold any t- shirt, pants, or shorts in under 2 seconds.

"What do you think of it?" ....and then the look on their faces!! lol. You're a mad man Izzy. Simply brilliant work mate. You should patent it. You'd make millions. I want one lol.
That's cool. Clever how the doors are connected to the gears so they alternately pop up, but spend a large part of the rotation lying flat. Now, how to make that third flap run off the gears too? Might need a cam for that.
Might need your help for the timing on the cam for that one
The back has to move 100 degrees or better for best folding results. I was thinking maybe adding another set of gears to allow for more dead time on the front flaps. Thank you for commenting.
...and some way to activate the drill with a foot switch.

izzy swan Hmm, could the cranks/gears somehow wind up a spring that then triggers at the very end to kick up the back?
The drill is good for us dads, but the kids are young and should be doing it hand cranked!

totally awesome. i have a cardboard version of this, but i'm gonna have to build one of these, it might get the high school kids in our shop to really fold t-shirts neatly. thanks izzy, you sir, are a genius.

Nice build Izzy. The folding machine would be a good idea for a person with disability or limited range of motion.
Now it would be really neat to add and electric motor with some pulleys (belt driven system) and a foot switch to start it and a way to make it auto stop after 1 cycle maybe some cams on the gears and some type of switch or contact system. Just a thought Very cool design izzy. Hope plans for building it will be available. Would love to build one of these. love your channel keep the cool stuff coming.

Your mind never rests, does it? Cool stuff. The kicker was the first time you pushed the cable and the third flap plopped over. That's when I cracked up. Good stuff, as usual!

Aha! Thanks Izzy. Now I know what to build my wife for her Christmas present! I’m sure she will appreciate it. Don’t think that I’ll be adding the power drill option though - my tools are stored in my Man Shed and there‘s a chance that our privacy contract may be breached should she step over the threshold.
It’s a serious matter. My 9yo daughter is still waiting for her iPad privileges to be reinstated after the last time she dared step into my Man shed - that was in 2012. It may sound a bit harsh, as she was only bringing her dad a cup of coffee, but she neglected to leave the cup on the ‘beverage reception shelf’ which I have installed outside my shed for that specific purpose. Once she starts folding her own laundry she can have her iPad back.

OMG, Sooo Awesome! And the drill (with raised eyebrow) was a cool add-on extra! Other than making sure Matthias sees this, if there is any way you of one of your thousands of viewers could contact someone involved with the hit TV show "The Big Bang Theory", their star Sheldon would love to have this on the show. Because he uses the cardboard/hardboard to fold his clothes like that (but manually). Haha. Great build!!! Thanks for sharing.

You need an award for that one. I think this will finally get my 16 year old to fold her darn clothes. Now, if only you could attach it to shock collar with a proximity sensor, so if she gets too far away from her laundry she gets zapped. ;0)
