I met Monsignor Scott while both of us were receiving chemo IVs at the UAMS Cancer Center in Little Rock, he for his MS & me for my stage 4 colon cancer. I'm a Methodist Lay Chaplain who works with other cancer patients. Since our 1st visit, we've had short visits thereafter. I deeply admire & respect Scott for his faith & the depth of his life devoted to Christ. We share a lot of similarities in that our respective diseases have led us to travel a deeper spiritual journey. I love Scott Friend.
Scott has not let MS define him. This disease tends to do that, as Scott's life has been a constant struggle. MS has allowed him to develop an extremely strong character. When one handles adversity as Scott does daily, one cannot but stand in admiration of the man.
