heavenly! I attended her masterclass as an observer in Melb in 2019. She is magnificent! I can't decide whether to play this or Schubert's. This seems 'deeper' and more varied than Schubert's but both are as exquisite. I am a self-taught fiddler and first played both when I was 16 by ear as I couldn't read notes then. Since, have been playing and singing these two in charities in Melb. I hope Anne-Sophie has fully recovered from Covid 19.
Why are there so many rude comments?? Haven't you haters ever heard of the quote : "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all." Also, don't all schools teach think before you speak? Is it True? Is it Helpful? Is it Inspiring? Is it Nice? Is it Kind? That makes the word think. So think, you haters!!! Don't be rude!!!!!!

I only know a bit of French because I take French class at school, but I can tell u are praising her because of the heart and I can understand some. Just saying.
I don’t understand all the negative comments. The music is so sweet and heart wrenching. She is an outstanding artist and does a fantastic job here. If I wanted to be critical, I could start looking for imperfections and as with most any live performance, it’s easy to find the “...(she) shoulda, coulda, and woulda...”. I can appreciate her performance for what it is. And I love the unbelievably sweet composition. If you hate this, I’m sorry but it’s your loss. Please send me a performance of the composition that you feel is impeccable and I promise I can find a thousand things wrong with it. Like, OMG, can you believe what she’s wearing? She was really to flat on the e#, what key is she playing in, anyway? And she doesn’t have very big breasts either! And the piano that supposed to fill in for a harp, how ridiculous and a poor excuse for an inferior performance. Not to mention, the piano player looks like he’s on his last breath. His baldness reflects his inability to translate the emotion of the piece. And, he is so mechanical. He could be replaced by an AI harp. For that matter, so could she?! ... It’s fun to be critical. It’s like you think no one else sees/hears what you do because you are so superior. I have thankfully recovered from being that kind of artist/performer/critic and it’s a lot more enjoyable. Good luck!
Ok, the piano is the accompaniment, but still, such an imbalance between the volumes is really a shame. But it brings back lots of memories & emotions nonetheless.
However, I really like the accompany in this case. You can hear very clearly how he changed the color of the chord. This is a prime technique to study for a concert pianist.
The only problem with this is that there is a version of it being played by Heifetz ... which is far superior. She's just fine as far as it goes BUT she's no Heifetz.
I don't know who took this crappy cell phone video during a live performance, but I'd encourage the channel to take it down. Its a disservice to Mutter and Orkis who put in the work to sound good and I'm sure don't want this crap floating around the internet.
Lambert Orkis is a good pianist but the piano cannot be totally opened for chamber music. The traditional way should be respected. Until the 3rd minute, his sound was louder than hers.
Must depend on your headphones, because I'm not hearing any issues with the balance. And for chamber music, if the pianist knows what he's doing, it's perfectly fine and even better to have the lid all the way open -- it allows much more variety of color from the instrument. Having it even on the half stick limits the tone palette, and a pianist as expert as Orkis can (and does!) control the volume perfectly well with the lid open all the way.
Belíssima execução parabéns!!!❤

@em. Yeah true

Leave it to Mutter to rewrite the score.
Is that supposed to be good or bad?
This is why you don't pull out your cell phone in the middle of a concert to take a video. It's just rude and doesn't work well anyway.
