  • Rustem Yakhin (full name in Tatar: Яхин Рөстәм Мөхәммәтхаҗи улы, pronounced [ˈjɑçin rœsˈtæm mœxæˌmætxæˈʑɪ uˈɫɯ]; Russian: Я́хин Русте́м Мухаме́т-Хазе́евич, romanized: Yákhin Rustém Mukhamét-Khazéyevich; 1921 - 1993) was a Tatar composer and pianist. People's Artist of the USSR (1986). Major works: orchestra with piano concerto (1950-1952), ballet Fidai (1987), fortepiano and viola concertos, more than 300 songs and romances. Yaxin is also an author of Hymn of the Republic of Tatarstan. He was a laureate of the Ğabdulla Tuqay Tatar ASSR State Prize in 1959.

    I can’t tell you how happy I am that you posted this. I played this piece 8 years ago and I fell in love with it, I ended up moving a few times and misplacing the piece years ago and have had absolutely no luck finding it ever since. Just hearing the full piece again after so long brought me to tears. Thank you. If there’s some way I can buy a PDF of this piece from you it would mean the world to me.

    Beautiful, the more you upload of this composer the more I enjoy him. He has that lightness and mysterious, furtive charm which Borodin captured in the Polovetsian Dances
