  • Somebody had to do it.
Until I'm able to find some more ID's and bumpers, this is the biggest collection of such from TV Land from 2000 to 2004 on this site. Sound quality may vary given that these bumpers are from different sources and I'm not a sound fixing wizard.
Credit goes to these people, in no specific order:

It's insane how much I am in love with this branding. This neat blend of 1960s vibrant playfulness, suprematism, and that Jetsons-type commercial vibe makes it feel timeless while also reflecting the time of the shows it's advertising. It's helped by the mix of serif and sans-serif typefaces which make it feel super chic. The tritone chime rings like a doorbell, which feels like TV Land is a guest you invited into your home - it's a very strong sonic logo. I think TV Land's branding is very much a product of the analog era, but overall, I wish more networks could approach this kind of oozing creativity on display.

I remember when TV Land first launched in 1996. I was in second grade and mainly watched it for The Addams Family, I also watched Nick at Nite for The Munsters. 1996-2002 was great but the rewatch ability era from 2002-2004 was the best. I especially remember watching TV Land's Twice is Nice everyday when my second year of Middle was coming to a close, and then all through the Summer of 2002, 13 year old me was watching Toonami, TV Land and researching DC and Marvel Comics history.

Back when TV Land played the classic television shows. I always came home from school to my Dad watching Bonanza, Gunsmoke or Star Trek on the channel. He joked that he would always get his showtime before my Mom got back from work a few years before she would retire. That logo jingle brings back those fun memories.

Now, if I decided to become in charge of Paramount Global, here’s what I would do to improve TV Land:
    - I’d create a new logo for the network, which will be a combination of the ones used from 2001-09 and 2015-present. Also, their former slogan “Take Me to TV Land” and the iconic tritone chime would make a return.
    - As for the new branding, I predict that it’ll involve their current branding mixed with elements from the one used from 2000-04.
    - Harry Shearer (The Simpsons), the former channel voiceover, would make his return.
    - I’d limit the amount of commercials that are used during a break.
    - I’d bring back the pre-show intros that are used before every episode.
    - You would see the return of the classic retromercials that used to air on the network.
    - I predict that you’d see the return of the former shows that aired on TV Land (i.e comedies, dramas, westerns, etc.). And, as for newer or modern shows, I’d air the ones that had a huge impact on people (e.g. Full House or Family Matters).
    - Now, as a result of these changes, you’d see a return of their former programming blocks, including TV Land Goes West, Crimestoppers, and Sunday’s Best.
    - As for original programming, I would revive some of the classics (i.e. Inside TV Land, TV Land’s Top 10) and create brand-new ones, which won’t involve edgy sitcoms or cheap reality shows.
Well, what do you think of these changes? I have a feeling with my suggestions, TV Land will become much better than it already is.

@@johnb5512 Wait a minute, it sounded like I heard Harry Shearer before and after the timestamps I provided, and I could've sworn that distinctive tone within said timestamps was that of Tim Conway, while spots like the ones at 0:10, 0:22, 0:59, or 4:31-5:06 I'm sure were done by Harry as he seems to have a slightly deeper voice than Tim. There's no way that they sound remotely similar after listening to them back and forth IMO, but I guess we can only rely on our ears unless we get confirmation from Harry himself on which ones he did and didn't do, and if he somehow sounded like Tim Conway in those other ones.

This is when TV Land was cool. It obviously was bought out by some greedy conglomerate. Now it has TONS of commercials, none of these bumpers/intros and JUNK all day long. TV Land also had a splash screen with a short into to the episode about to air - it shows on screen the title of the episode, when it first aired and I believe the season and episode #. It was VERY cool!
