    Thank you for explaining this so simplisticly. I have been wanting to better understand how to caluculate and use feed and speed. I get it now! And will be sure to start applying this at work!

    How can I know the depth of the cut and the percentage of the tool that the tool resit of cut, I mean in Z and de % of the diameter of cut

    HI TOM . I LIKE YOUR VIDEO. IT IS HELPFUL BUT I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT CALCULATE FEED AND SPEED IN LATHE. EX: I WANT TO ROUGH OD A PART HAVE DIAMETER OD .5 IN ; MATERIAL IS ALUMINUM 6061. SO HOW CAN I CALCULATE FEED AND SPEED? THANK YOU

    What happens when you have an endmill and material but don't know either the SFM or RPM and have no chart?

      get to know what material you are going to cut and get data about endmill you are going to use from the dealer of cutting tools

    Sir .. I request you for speeds and feeds in metric please.. and small doubt that whether feed is same for contours and pockets ? ..plz suggest. .. thanks in advance

      Tom Stikkelman Feeds and speeds are based on depth of cut and amount of step over. They are calculated the same for outside profiling and pocket machining. Thanks for watching. Let me know if you have any questions.
