That makes two of us, been a couple of years since we ran our loco's at Ruddington. Really good now with the new extension. Shame nothing is running on the standard gauge or you could have done the two on the same day.
That's one impressive set up they have there Chris, great to see your Scot running, and she looks and sounds superb, along with Rosie who was having a whale of a time....Regards...Bob
The Scot is still playing up,but we are on the case! Rosie was upset she missed the drive on the GWR Manor plus 19 five inch Loco's LOL!....Regards Chris
Hi Dennis.Yes they have a great track, this day was for Mainline loco's which has taken the place of the Pacific day.....Thank you for your kind comment.......Regards Chris
Lovely Video Chris , liked all the locos and the A4 your Scot etc fantastic , we had our trainning on the large scales last week so hopefully will not be long now ! regards Graham
One minute we are steaming the loco, the next we are filming/driving,then filming again until Rosie finds another loco to drive and i'm driving or loco sitting....Great! we really enjoyed our day,we found some more faults with the Scot now we have got to get them sorted...When you get passed out you will have loads of fun..ENJOY!!!
It always amuses me to see guys playing with toy trains. Looks outlandish big guys sitting astride them. Could it possibly be a second or third childhood.
Hi Pete..It does look a bit odd but who cares. It is my second childhood and I love it...Most of these guys have spent many hours building these beautiful scale locomotives..Now they are enjoying the fruits of their labours...Good luck to them...Cheers Chris
Well you got to give her a good trial there Chris ...hope you soon get full satisfaction and have her 100% she looked to be running good to me ...looks a good club to be a member of...Rosie looked to be enjoying herself ...Dave
We went to Ruddington as we knew it had a good climb and would make her work, also the day was mainline loco's so we killed two birds with one stone....We found out we still have a cylinder or Timing fault so it was a success, now we have got to get it fixed.......Regards Chris
Hi Chris..The saying standard gauge means that the loco's are models of the mainline examples, standard gauge is anything that ran or runs on 4' 8 1/2" mainline gauge track...Hope that helps Chris.
I’ve watched this vid a few times and only just noticed the Hush Hush, or what the Hush Hush became, I’ve never seen a 7 1/4 Official Hush Hush, I guess one doesn’t exist?
Hi John..I cannot recall seeing a Hush Hush in 7 1/4 and we get about a bit. This 5 inch model could be the only one..It can be seen running at the Wrexham M.E.S, a rare beast...Regards Chris
Check out the web for sites..try Station Road Steam is one. Most of the loco's in this video are built by the owner...So try building one...Join a Model Engineering Society they will help you.
Seems like you had a good day out Chris! Shame there weren't many electric locomotives running, cause I would've definitely wanted to drive them all, if I was there, like your wife with those steam locos! :)
If the loco battery/electric loco was based on a standard gauge, they would have been made very welcome as everybody else was.Great day out.......Best regards Chris
Thanks for that and just out of wonder what editing software do you use. (If this is a repeat message it's because I didn't know if I sent another or not) Regards Charlie
You can just see the start of the new line at the top of the long straight uphill at 6.25 into the video. The line will dive off to the left across the service road and then through the woodland on the other side eventually coming in at the far end of Parkside station.
Incorrect Stanier tender on The Royal Scot 6109.This would have been a fowler tender as she is in 1927/28 livery,Stanier tenders were not fitted until 1937/8.
No! not this time we have been on that line before, but always worth a second visit,if we hadn't got the loco in steam we might have popped over....Cheers Chris
She dumps it on me and I wanted to do some filming LOL! She was moaning that she didn't drive the 19 five inch loco's as well. She doing well for drives or cab rides this season.Did you get to a track?......Regards Chris
Aye your Rosie does really well :-) .... as for me, no, l did not get to a track :-( other than my own clubs one (in the making, and cannot wait until we get running!). See you in July :-)
Sorry you feel like that, these models are amazing, many built by there owners spending many years to build. The driving of them is miles from being boring...Regards Chris
Great selection of locos running there. I really must visit Ruddington one day.
That makes two of us, been a couple of years since we ran our loco's at Ruddington. Really good now with the new extension. Shame nothing is running on the standard gauge or you could have done the two on the same day.
Model engineering at it's absolute best thank you for allowing me a all to brief window into your world.
Hi Pete..Thanks for commenting...They really are pieces of hand built art, just amazing!...Some taking many years to complete....Regards Chris
This is just too cool! Would love to visit some of these places in England. Amazing stuff.
Yes we have some lovely places to visit.
What an amazing venue ... and such incredible engines.
Brilliant day out, just hope we can do it again this year.

Very impressive stuff and well filmed!
Many thanks Philip.Always a good turn out for this meeting......Regards Chris
Love the sound of the whistle on the green engine!
That is a chime whistle,my favourite as well! My Scot has ones but the tone is a lot deeper on the Brit.......Regards Chris.
Lovely Video Chris , liked all the locos and the A4 your Scot etc fantastic , we had our trainning on the large scales last week so hopefully will not be long now ! regards Graham

It seems an on going project Graham, one day it will be right.
That wild-flower bed by the tunnel is a beaut'!!!
Rosie said the same and I agree with you both, very nice!
Wonderful Engineering !!!!
It really is Rupert, some very clever people build these wonderful machines....Regards Chris

Hi, can someone tell me what gauge this is? Is it called “Standard” gauge? And can anybody tell me the ratio? Thanks
Hi Chris..The saying standard gauge means that the loco's are models of the mainline examples, standard gauge is anything that ran or runs on 4' 8 1/2" mainline gauge track...Hope that helps Chris.
Britannia class 70003 Black prince, all the detail of a full size locomotive.
Beautiful loco,I hope it will be at Ruddington in a couple of weeks time........Regards Chris

Lovely track, apparently they are extending a circle onto the station with the turntable, do you know if there is truth in this???
Yes they are building a new section of track for the ground level, they have dug the footings, not to long now we hope.......Cheers Chris
Thanks for that and just out of wonder what editing software do you use. (If this is a repeat message it's because I didn't know if I sent another or not)

I use the Corel VideoStudio X9, I also have a Power Director 14, but never use it,the X9 is so much easier to use.
You can just see the start of the new line at the top of the long straight uphill at 6.25 into the video. The line will dive off to the left across the service road and then through the woodland on the other side eventually coming in at the far end of Parkside station.
Wow that's a big one!
Glad you liked it.......Regards Chris.
Incorrect Stanier tender on The Royal Scot 6109.This would have been a fowler tender as she is in 1927/28 livery,Stanier tenders were not fitted until 1937/8.
The tender was supplied with the loco when built so it stays put William.
That lady with the flat `at gets every flippin` where, lol.
That's because she is my wife and we go everywhere together. She is train mad,she can drive better than a lot of guys.
@@wooltman I know that, just my humour.
did you get a chance to look around GCRN (I volunteer there most weekends)
No! not this time we have been on that line before, but always worth a second visit,if we hadn't got the loco in steam we might have popped over....Cheers Chris
Nice film, and productive with where to work on your Scot. ..... And how does your girl do it with more than one loco to drive in a day! :-)
She dumps it on me and I wanted to do some filming LOL! She was moaning that she didn't drive the 19 five inch loco's as well. She doing well for drives or cab rides this season.Did you get to a track?......Regards Chris

nice model trains and all but damn, this is like watching paint dry and grass grow
