      +MandoLessons I wish I were using them as lessons. I'm hoping to get a mandolin sometime soon and start learning. Beautiful sound. You should visit Italy in the summer or spring :) it's really beautiful

    I just started my mandolin journey and David Grisman is the one who inspired me to pick it up, and I'm so grateful for your lessons!! You explain everything really well! Thank you!

    You are such a nice guy. I really appreciate all these videos. They are helping me find my way into my mandolin. I tried to learn to play earlier in life but I didn't have great resources like these videos. I love your teaching style, your tremolo - and your mandolin! 😀 Muchas gracias.

    Excellent, thanks. Btw, TREM-oh-lo rather than trem-OH-lo, but you prob. have realized this by now.

      @@krumpelschtiltzkeen thanks for cleaning this up. We grow up watching American television. So we know the accents and you can work out how the pronunciation comes about. But this one stumped me. I’m not criticising him.

    I joined a Mandolin orchestra and I need to play lots of tremolo. I've noticed that my pick starts to turn. How do you keep the pick loose without it turning? I'm guessing you're going to say practice.

    • @rainydaykennels
      @rainydaykennels 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How are you holding the pick? the problem went away for me after I learned to pinch it between my thumb and side of my first knuckle on my pointer finger instead of between my thumb and the pad of my pointer.

    I've never heard anyone say tremolo like you do before. I had to watch another video to see if I've been saying it wrong. I started to watch Mike Marshall's tremolo video to see how he said it. Is this the Italian pronunciation?

    • @MandoLessons
      @MandoLessons  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Julie Nielsen I have no idea! I must have heard someone pronounce it like that at some point, but I can't vouch for its correctness. I definitely don't speak Italian :)

    • @noacastillo9608
      @noacastillo9608 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Julie Nielsen It's pronounced as Tre, as in Trek, Mo, as in mall, Lo, as in Lord, not Treymowlow

    It's pronounced TREmolo. The accent is on the first syllable. Not even in Italian is it pronounced with the accent on the second syllable.

      Very weird. It's as tho' he taught himself the pronunciation from reading the word. I doubt he ever heard anyone else pronounce it that way. I sure haven't.
