    I'm completely brand new to watercolor. I took a small class at our library and found your channel today thankfully.
    I just absolutely love you and your personality.
    Thanks fod making it understandable for this newbie.

    Great! I have been watching your ceramic series and Kelly referred me here when I asked about wood. Really fun stuff Kristy!

    You can get translucent ground as well. I find it best to apply with a roller in thin coats. The Watercolour takes quite a bit of time to dry and I find it very different than paper. Way less water works so much better. I use it on canvas.

    Yes!
    I already have all the supplies I have just never opened my watercolor ground yet!
    I have never seen anyone put it on that think!
    I LOVE it!❤️
    I cannot believe how much better it works with the Watercolor ground apply thicker!!!
    I will be doing this right away!
    You just wouldn’t believe how HAPPY I am that I saw this video today!
    Your ornaments turned out absolutely beautiful!
    Thank you!❤️

      YES!
      It works much more Beautifully than I have ever seen!
      That’s why I am so excited to make some!
      I checked and mine is transparent so I ordered a big tub of it last night in the titanium white!
      Do you think I could separate some of it into a different container and add color to it? That way I could have a colored background?

      @@KristyRice it is addictive. I did it for well over 3 years. You can also use the burner on watercolor paper either hot or cold pressed 140lb or higher works best.

    Looks like fun! 😃 Never heard of that coating product, great tip! Thank you. I just bought wooden coasters. I was planning to use Derwent Inktense directly on the wood, but now I want to try this product with watercolour!!😊🌈🌸

    Were there holes in the wood to loop the string? If not how did you attach the string? These are awesome.

    • @KristyRice
      @KristyRice  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The holes came pre-drilled :)

    Do you seal these with anything? We're doing gift card Christmas so everyone can get what they want when the supply chain settles down. These will be a perfect addition!!

    • @KristyRice
      @KristyRice  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can give them a light spray of a final fixative or even a non yellowing polyurethane spray but it's not 100% necessary...

    Instead of water color ground ( cause i dont have any and want to use what i have …. 😉) will white gesso work??
    I saved my christmas tree slices from when we trimmed our tree.

    • @KristyRice
      @KristyRice  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could work… you won’t get the full watercolor effect as I fear the dried gesso will resist the watercolor a bit… but worth an experiment!
