Perhaps they would be better with some sort of blade on the hands (used like claws if you want them to be lethal) and the scaled down repair gun in the head like in your latest ambush video (perhaps attached to a key so you can press it to make the zombies spit the infection) to zombify them, so that the syringe can’t get shot and turn them into actual zombies
You should make custom zombies, like ones with the crystal shards in their hands and they kill them, then infect them with the syringe in their face, or one that when u should it, it explodes into zombie gas, like the syringe when shot. (It would be inside the zombie or on its chest.)
I am late but i have a suggestion. Instead of zombie syringes, maybe use knockout, death, or bone-eating syringe on the zombies so that they may not turn green and make it seems they will turn
Also, related to my last comment, I’m not certain but i think if you let the bodies sit for a while before repair gun they still get the green color of the zombies without zombification
