- Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle travelled to Rwanda to witness World Vision’s water work.
During her one-week visit to the country, she trekked to unclean water sources, visited clean water projects, helped build a well and met many Rwandans whose hospitality and stories have made a lasting impression on her life.
Clean water does more than quench thirst, it changes lives. There are more than 663 million people worldwide living without this fundamental resource.
Partner with World Vision Canada to help bring access to clean water in order to provide:
1) Health: When a community has access to clean water, sanitation and good hygiene practices, it helps improve medical services, like preventing infections and ensuring the healthy deliveries of children.
2) Education: School is one of the best ways to lift children out of poverty. But dirty water can cause dehydration and decreases a child's ability to focus and learn in school.
3) Food: Clean water is for more that just drinking. It's also integral to farming. When fields are properly irrigated, crop yields and livestock production can greatly increase.
4) Safety: In many countries in the developing world, women and children walk long distances to collect water. These journeys are dangerous, often putting their personal safety at risk.

Well Meghan Markle is so blessed as she could and did visit these very special children, as I commented already both my husband have sponsored children, one in Nepal and now the other in India, but unfortunately were never ever permitted to visit either of them.
All people need help! We should all lend a hand to one another wherever possible and what Meghan has achieved is awesome. Good for her!

Markle did nothing. The charity paid for her to fly out for 2 days, have a few photos taken, she even brought her own photographer with her and kept changing outfits, the locals were annoyed they'd never seen anything like it. The truth will come out when they divorce.

Giving this woman credit is really unfair. When my daughter was president of the school council in 6th grade she raised enough money for World Vision to get water pumps put in poor villages in Rwanda and China. And she had to go up against a whole group of parents who were campaigning the neighbourhood to raise $250, 000 for themselves to put an artificial turf soccer field at the school. My little 12 year old had to go up against these mean, creepy adults. They called her names and bullied her and tried to sabotage her efforts. Even some of the teachers were against her. Yet, she worked hard and pressed on to get the pumps put in. In fact, some of the pumps put in are probably the same ones this girl is visiting.
My daughter and her school council mates were also able to raise enough money to send two girls in China to school as well as to buy goats and chickens for villages in India and Africa.
My daughter and the few young students who helped her are the real heroes!!
