Happy Christmas to everyone and all the best for 2022 !
#nothosaurus #ichthyosaur #shonisaurus
Fun fact- while no baby nothosaurs have ever been found, studies of the bones of Nothosaurus suggest that they may have been flexible with whether they laid eggs or gave live birth, similarly to some modern lizards. A study on the bones of twenty-four Nothosaurus showed that seven of around twenty-four showed signs of a live-birth strategy, with larger birth size, later sexual maturity, and older overall age than other Nothosaurus!
also shonisaurus is a sea blimp fite me
hello thanks dawn ! best wishes !!
@@johnsonmortimer You also!
It true tho they are sea blimps lol
His not lying he does think these facts are fun.
Sea blimp for the WIN!
Amazing stuff right here. Incredibly realistic. If BBC ever redoes WWD you should be at rhe helm of the technical part and dinosaur rendering.
Faxxxs if they do ever redos that series he needs to be hired emedently
hello thank you Hugh !! 😊
Agreed. The original walking with monsters, walking with dinosaurs etc has nothing on this. Doesnt even come close.
@@99Yeti lol
@@johnsonmortimer do some more T. rex crap and not only Spinosaurus and car car
I am not sure if this aims to be accurate, but it shows nothosaurs (triassic), pliosaurs (Jurassic) and large, short-tailed pterosaurs (Cretaceous) at the same time.
hello the pliosaurs looking creature is Sachicasaurus vitae which is around the same time as the nothosaurs. sorry if the timing is out pterosaurheresies.wordpress.com/2019/03/22/sachicasaurus-the-first-giant-nothosaur-not-a-pliosaur/
Loved the build up from the coastal animals to the fully marine ones. Can't wait for the whole video!
hello thanks Zach !!
Amazing, interesting video. And the super Tanker on the horizon at 1:30 is actually extra-fun ;)
thanks sorry for mistake
Nothosaurus is literally the coolest, this is truly like peaking into the past
hello thank you 😁😁😁
I like how he shows the little ones before showing the mommy
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊😊
Nothosaurus is my absolute favorite marine reptile, so seeing it be a major feature in this preview is quite the Christmas treat.
good to hear thank you !!
My favourite is mosasauras :)
@@johnsonmortimer Just a small question , why are there Pteranodons when Nothosaurus are alive
But the animation is gorgeous though
I love how the Nothosaurs' behavior is somewhere between that of a seal and a crocodile, and how rounded and whale-like the Ichthyosaurs are. Can't wait till this is finished!
thank you the full clip will be up tomorrow
Nothosaurus
Do I really need to say how wonderfully crafted this animation is 😂. Merry Christmas my good sir! 🎄🦖
Glad you enjoyed it! thx 🎄 🦌 🎁🎄 🦌 🎁🎄 🦌 🎁
a good film
You never fail to amaze me with your animations. Truly amazing work!
Thank you so much 😀 🎄 🦌 🎁 ⛄
Hey
The giant Ictheosaur at the end was amazing. It's speculated that there was a species of Ictheosaur that may have been the largest marine reptile. Great video.
thanks the last one is a shonisaurus
They were the largest ones indeed. There are several bones of different individuals clearly over 20 metres (from, shastasaurus, shonisaurus or new species). It's speculated that Icthiosaur family could have some of them being the largest marine form of all time. Few of these skeletons from England are bigger than many of the modern baleen whales.
Could be possible to find one of those animales being bigger or at least longer than the blue whale. Taking into account that Icthiosaurs evolved into giant forms in only the first 1% of their evolutionary process, which is awesome, we could find many other giants in the fosil record.
@@betofernandez5524 also I think the fossils found are not even 0.1% if the total amount
@@qwert28077 That's the eternal problem. But having just few individuals of one specie you already know a lot. Obviously many species are and will be missing forever.
We can speculate with big land predators at 14-15 metres, (maybe some huge specimens of T.Rex or Giga for example), because we have many terophods in the range of 12-13 metres.
We can speculate with saurophods over 45 metres, because we know that some of them were close to 40, and few remains could be from bigger individuals.
With Icthiosaurs, we can specaulate with sizes rivalizing blue whale, because we already have bones giving us estimations clearly over 20 metres.
Will see in the future, more giants could and will appear, but although the fosil record is very thiny, we already know a lot about how large those animales could be.
You are seriously one of the only reasons i still regularly check TH-cam. Amazing videos for real
wow thanks a new clip will be up tomorrow

@@norarivkis2513 hello its a preview for the full animation which will be around 6 mins, i posted the preview as these take a long time to make, the final version will be posted on here, best wishes !
This is amazing! I'd love to see a full movie with animations like this. With or without a narrator.
Well done, great work!

Prehistoric oceans always interested me deeply, and your work here is truly beautiful

It’s crazy to me that these animals actually existed.

Take care, Julian! ;D

@@johnsonmortimer CAN'T WAIT!!
That was incredible! I loved the touch of container cargo ship on the horizon at 1:35.
sorry my bad
Honestly, (and I don’t want to sound like a hater) the only problem with these videos is the size, sometimes the animals are over or undersized, but other then that its truly magnificent.
hello thanks sorry about that 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@johnsonmortimer no problem
Such an amazing gift to your fans. Merry Christmas, and may the next year be brighter.
thanks hope so !! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks again E7! So glad to hear it. :)

Bravo Julian! This looks almost most like a nature documentary. All that missing is the narrator.
hello thanks !!
Most people laugh off our planets history, and truly think all of this is created for humans

I wish movie or TV producers would hire you make stories about the vids you sir are making. Very, very wonderful!

Awesome work, dude! I can't wait to see the full thing!!

I love the little underwater-flying pliosaurs. Like Cretaceous penguins.
thank you !
Thanks for the Christmas present! I like the nothosaurus eyes. They look less "googly eyed" than the plesiosaurus. :D
thank you 😁😁 🎄 🦌 🎁
I love you how your designs don't have to be accurate at all to be amazing
hello thanks !
Amazingly realistic!
With the enjoyment of watching, one more thing is left for the viewer, to imagine tiny human in the water with these beasts.
hello thanks Anna 🎄 🦌 🎁

So wonderful. I've got relaxing feel like I've walking in the prehistoric world.
thank you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😀
Just needs a few ammonites and you are golden. Absolutely gorgeous, gives me goosebumps. What I wouldn’t give for universe view only admin powers to see ancient seas past.
hello thanks. yes your right i should use some ammonites i do have a model of them somewhere
Never failing to amaze us with your animations, Julian, you always deliver
wow thanks 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😁
OH MY GOD! this is ridiculously amazing! I can’t believe how incredible ur work is! It always seems like it couldnt POSSIBLY b any better, but then u keep coming out with new ones that are even BETTER!
The only bit of critique I could possibly give, which by the way, is NOT saying anything is bad in ANY way, is that I feel like some of the aquatic life has too much texture on their skin. It looks absolutely breathtaking, and so incredibly real, but for animals that are meant to be very fast moving, like pliosaurs, plesiosaurs, ichthyosaurs, sharks, dunkleosteus, and other fish, they have to have very smooth streamlined skin. Any texture at all greatly reduces their hydrodynamics, which makes them either slower, or have to expend much more energy to move faster. Again, I do NOT think it looks bad at ALL, I think it looks AMAZING, I believe it’s just not as biologically accurate for them to have the skin textures/folds/flaps. I think it works great on the things that don’t need that kind of speed, like the nothosaurs, and even the individuals of any type of animal, including the fast streamlined types, that are the huge very old ones, that have been alive so long that they just have wear and tear. Please don’t ever take anything I say as saying there’s anything wrong with ur work, and that it doesn’t look good, but if I could help u in ANY way, I would be SO happy, and if I think there’s any possible way ur work could be even BETTER, I want to help make it so! I truly believe as soon as the right people see ur work, they’ll look into either bringing u on board with their company/station/business, or at LEAST want to commission u for doing documentary work, and I can’t wait to see ur work on something like that!
Again, if ANY of u people out there happen to know anyone, or know anyone who KNOWS anyone, in the TV business, or internet, or any visual media, pleasepleasePLEASE forward, or let them know about Julian’s work, here! Bring it to their attention, and have them take a look! It’s for our sake just as much as his! Imagine getting to see whole documentaries with this animation! Just the idea of all the possibilities makes me very excited, and want to watch them, so badly! U guys can make all the difference for someone who works so hard on stuff for us to enjoy, so everyone PLEASE do whatever u possibly can to make it happen! I know there MUST b at LEAST one of u out there, and probably more, are in a position to help with that, so PLEASE take the extra time to help out EVERYONE, especially someone who really deserves it, and almost makes us time travel back to see these amazing animals in real life!!!!
Is Julian actually looking for TV work right now? It doesn't sound likely to be that difficult, but I wouldn't want it to be something somebody else does because we selfishly want to see it, when that isn't the direction he wants to take his life (or isn't sure).
hello thanks Andrew for your kind comments and for taking the time to give me feedback ❤️❤️ hopefully this year i can start on some kind of longer doc or imax project will see. thanks again 🎄 🦌 🎁
hello thanks nora. I'm thinking about maybe doing a 3d imax doc or maybe something in VR will see.

The way you integrate real environments with the cg creatures is virtually flawless! It truly lends a whole level of realism that nothing short of the Jurassic Park movies has accomplished.
