Absolutely! A couple notes and/or questions: 1) On the Nikon Z system, I find shooting in monochrome with focus peaking at level 2 allows for easy manual focusing. 2) I have that Fotasy M42 adapter: for some reason, every M42 lens screws in upside down - the aperture ring markers and focus scale end up on the bottom. Wondering if yours does that. I was considering buying a K&F concept version, which I used to use on my Sony A7iii. Now, you’ll have to talk about your favorite non-Nikon vintage lenses :)
@@JaredTremper My Fotasy M42 adapter came with a small Allen wrench that you can use to loosen the screw mount side of the adapter to align the lens so the focus scale is on top. Thanks for the idea. I will do a video on my favorite vintage not made by Nikon.
@@julesvuottosphotofocus4696 hey, that tip was helpful: I never noticed those screw mounts (mine didn’t come with a wrench, but I happened to have one small enough to adjust). Thanks for that!
Jules good video, there are still good deals out there you just have to look every week and have a little bit of luck also. On Ebay, a couple of months ago, I won a NikonPre-AI 135 F3.5 for $7.26 plus shipping total of $15.72.
I use the Neewer Z to E mount adapter (It is very thin). Then I buy inexpensive E to F And E to M42 mechanical adapters. This combination works well on my Z8 in Manual Focus mode. The big advantage over the Z to [whatever] mechanical adapters is that my combination provides focus confirmation. The focus box, which you can move anywhere you like, turns green when focus is achieved. This makes it unnecessary to zoom in to focus accurately. In my opinion Nikon should have implemented this feature in the expensive FTZ II adapter, but they didn't. On the ZF, I learned (I don't have one), Subject Detection also works with manual focus lenses. Unfortunately, on my nearly top-of-the-line Z8, this feature is missing. Come on, Nikon! Add this feature in a firmware update!

I forgot that in July I published several videos on my favorite vintage wide angle, normal and telephoto lenses.

@@drJ0422 Thank you for that useful information.
It's a shame there are so few bargains left now. They're fun to play with, but I prefer AF lenses as I'm getting older.
@@MrSimonj1970 You have to search longer and harder to find a bargain. Thanks for watching.
