I am British, I went to Bucharest in the summer and plan to go back in January. my only regret is not going to the big clubs, which I went to in Constanta. I just stayed in the old city and had a great time in the beer gardens there. Romanian people are very friendly, polite and almost all speak very good conversational English, the weather and beer gardens outside bars are really cool in the summer, there were good restaurants all over and everything was cheap compared to western Europe. Awesome country, anyone who comments negatively on Romania, hasn't been there or is a total dick or both...
I was there in November, during a "cold" snap... which was like -2 to -5C, not bad at all. I was mostly in the Old City as well, mostly the Fire Club, and had a great time, I was treated well, and would love to visit in the summer. Ursus beer rocks, as well.
bulwark1 I agree with you. I haven't been to Romania and Bucharest yet, but I will love to go. In addition, I like the Romanian language because it's a Latin language like Latin, Spanish, French, and all the others. I am Latino and American, so it is no wonder why I like the language, and intend to learn it to the max. I will visit both Bucharest and Transylvania, the place of the famous Count Dracula!
