That it was better in presentation, the puppets said what the actual crowd and people watching actually thought which was cool but they should just make it good so puppets don’t have to joke truth about it. They celebrated an alleged fraud in amir who was called out by many TH-camrs and journalists with evidence. All this is alleged though and we should be able to hear his side of things but instead looks like he will just take the way of shutting off comments. We finally had an actual game win best game not a movie pretending to be a video game. Astro bot was an actual fun video game. When the developer of baldurs gate 3 came on at the end and destroyed half the people there it was great as he said you can tell who has passion in the products they create and who doesn’t.
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤ Good or bad game apart. Why did Naughty Dog choose to still play a trailer that would provoke so much backlash (and they knew it, they turn down the comments only on this trailer). If nobody by the game (even for very bad reasons) they loose everything and it’s not a philanthropic world, they do game to gain money, not by ideology
Because naughty dog I think cares more about backlash and making a statement then making great games anymore. Even though I actually liked the last of us 2 it could have been so much better.
I don't watch award shows but I'm thinking it might be worth it to watch the Games ones. For some reason Gaming is bit down the ladder of respect from movies and TV, and that needs to change.
100% Some people just don't see games in the same light as they do other narrative based forms of media. But what I love about games is that you aren't just reading or watching the story, you are directly in the story, playing through it. It's a really awesome form of media and similar to comics, is one that has sometimes been looked down upon in regards to it being valid as a form of art.
@VampX13 -- Exactly. I've been interested in getting into building games for a smidge. I don't know how to, but I'm still thinking of compiling a portfolio to submit to studios around Toronto.
Hey Amanda... It was amazing to see the industry coming together to celebrate what makes gaming special - the pure joy of play. From Amir's touching Game Changer award to seeing indie games shine bright, it feels like we're entering a new era of gaming that puts players first. The speeches were so genuine and passionate - definitely gave me goosebumps! Anyone else feeling hopeful about gaming's future? 🎮✨ #GameAwards #FutureOfGaming
I am feeling that for SURE. We got some really amazing speeches this year. And I love to see games being recognized for putting players first and who genuinely want to celebrate the fun of games with their designs like we saw with Astro Bot. I can't wait to play that game!
Personally i thought this year of the game awards was better then last year but that's not really saying much, but considering this game awards thing from the beginning had a very bad track record for years at least in my opinion.
oh dang, there were several for me. intergalactic, dispatch, project robot, and okami 2 have me SCREAMING, the witcher 4 trailer kinda makes me want to maybe try a witcher game again, and I *really* do not like souls games but even I was like 👀at the co-op multiplayer elden ring.
@duckducklarry it takes, the last of us, an uncharted, or fallout, for Me. Last year I did get excited for Stray but ended up disappointed same with Starfield. Fallout in space my ass
Head it was a good one this year. Other channels said it was. And it's a art form. Yes. The richer are getting rich. The poor are getting poorer. That one of the reasons why we have so much trouble in the world. Long time no see. 😊👍
A gaming awards show should be FUN. It should be intriguing. It should not be too draggingly looong. It should be hosted by someone engaging. It shouldn't be awkward AF.
I thought it was pretty fun this year actually. It's hard to sustain that though when your show is 3 hours long - haha - I think no matter what the show will always drag a bit just because of the length. It would be nice if they had enough funding to make it so they had less ads but at the same time that also helps to pay for the show. And then they also have a lot of Awards to give out and a lot of announcements and trailers to cover. I didn't think it was super awkward this year actually. Did you? I mean I guess people were being called out which might be awkward for some. But I actually loved that. And it felt like most of the room there did too.
@@VampX13 You are correct. They have to pay the bills, hence the ads, but they do not have to conform to standard awards show convention. (as it is supposed to celebrate gaming, and one would think this kind of show would be the MOST fun as compared to other awards shows) In the end, I do think it's a BIG step up from previous years, I'll give them that, and maybe this (better than before) trend will continue next year? I do see 2025 to be.....HYPE.....in regards to gaming.
Personally, I'd view it as more like a CES, insofar as that it's an industry tradeshows. Or maybe like MAMA (Asian music awards show), where it's literally run by the industry to promote it's messaging. (MAMA is run by a major Korean broadcaster (Mnet) for reference).
Not a fan of award shows in general. Either a bunch of things you never heard of won or the T-Swift in the category gets it each time. (Trying to create a visual, not trying to start a riot) I've had some issues with gaming in both industry and culture.
I do not understand how you think it’s looking up by what we saw but maybe it’s just you being positive which is awesome I have just lost all positivity over the past 4 years of this. .Most big games are 2 to 4 years out . Also you looked at things backwards , also before you celebrate amir please look at the full Twitter threat Colin moriarty put out and others of how he didn’t do anything . This guy actually is out in places to help close down companies and get info to buy them out. He works for tencent which is. A huge Chinese company he isn’t just some little guy that helped lol. This award was the worse award and was basically made up. And he deserved the opposite. Now about games you said wow balatro was in game of the year what a statement, no once again that meant the games were so bad this year that they had to include a game like balatro and dlc. That is the state we are in. I know you want. A positive spin but the games industry is not in a positive place unless they massively change. I hope they will because I hate seeing people laid off but the more they let people like amir get close the more jobs will be lost not saved.
I didn't actually think it was horrible. I thought it was pretty inspiring this year. I think this might be my favourite year for the Game Awards. It felt very emotionally charged and I love that so many smaller design studios and indie games came out on top. Well deserved, I think.
@VampX13 If it's STILL anything like the original shows on G4 back in the days which was clearly garbage that couldn't even be recycled(everybody already knew who won because the party favors were over the tables of the winning companies) what's the point?😒
It’s always bad, this year was really not thst awful compared to most years. Other then posturing the alleged fraud in amir and a lot of indie games getting shine but that was only because how many tripple a games were bad. This does not mean they are pushing indie games at all..
What did you think of the Game Awards this year? What are you excited about or nervous about when it comes to gaming in 2025 and beyond?

I never thought Waldorf and Statler from the Muppets would be into gaming.

Gaming makes more money than both , just the awards shows of the other are done better.

I always find most of them good, but there wasn't ONE GAME that set my mind and heart with hope filled excitement 😢
oh dang, there were several for me. intergalactic, dispatch, project robot, and okami 2 have me SCREAMING, the witcher 4 trailer kinda makes me want to maybe try a witcher game again, and I *really* do not like souls games but even I was like 👀at the co-op multiplayer elden ring.

I don't see the game awards ever being a proper event so why bother to watch I just wait to hear about how horrible it ALWAYS is!😂💯📠
