It might be due to the weight of the follower or how strong it retain back the spring. Because if the casing get strike like that means that the bullet after the one that got ejected, sprung up a bit too much and caught on the bolt when it rides forward.
No, I’m going to try in a different mag first. The 556 did seem a little long for the mag itself. Going to try a slimmer mag and see what happens. My 556 (10) mags work great otherwise

OOOOO it might be to 62 grain being a bit longer vs 55 grain
or is that 223 vs 556 one being longer then the other
