I found myself thinking about this from a slightly different perspective. Oftentimes, reverts are treated differently when they initially come to the masjid, especially if they have some sort of “obvious distinction” (i.e., tattoos, piercings on males, etc.). We are not enemies simply because we happened to come to Islam from a different stopover in life. Unfortunately, we treat others as if that was the case. My heart hurts for my revert brothers and sisters who experience this, and I pray that the Ummah bounds itself together by faith and not by our outer appearances and our faulty judgements of others.
I hear you. Don't worry, every 'different' person experiences the wonderful ummah's 'special' treatment. Women, divorcees, poor, dark skinned, those without sons.... a million distinct ways there will always people who apparently need to find worth by ostracizing or putting others down, to find some worth (therefore apparently lacking intrinsic worth). Thick skinned discernment is the only way to go when dealing with our dear ummah brothers and sisters.
I think it sometimes happens that they edit out a section of the audio if there is an accidental mistake in the recitation of the Qur'an. The audience will be aware of the intention at the time but people watching a short clip won't have the same contextual reference.
Salaam Alaykum all and happy Friday! At 2:47, Ustad Nouman Ali Khan says: "not you, someone." He is emphasises that others misuse the Ayah. I watched a video he was talking about the same Ayah last year. I think he is misinterpreting it too. In that video and this video, there is a little differences. He can something he can say now because of the genocide in Gaza, Palestine. I encourage you to study the Quran for yourselves. Talk to different educators. And if you are from the Muslim world, you should focus on listening to your own local shaykhs rather than shaykhs in the West. I could be wrong. Allah knows what is right.
Do you know what suah Sad, Saba, An-Naml, Al-Anbya and Al-Kahf have in common?....It is a great part of human history and the true identity of Dhul-Qarnain 😇
So that means if someone reject monotheism, it would make them the enemies of allah right? By whatever nouman ali explained, i am allowed to fight allah's enemies. Right?

The Prophet (ﷺ) said (to her), 'If you wish, be patient and you will have (enter) Paradise; and if you wish, I will invoke Allah to cure you.' She said, 'I will remain patient,' and added, 'but I become uncovered, so please invoke Allah for me that I may not become uncovered.' So he invoked Allah for her." Sahih Bukhari 5652 ... @@Baharselam-j8mplease kindly take a therapy you seem to be mentally sick to achieve any good from Allah you should first trust him completely without any greed in your heart. Absolute trust is needed to feel blessed. There isn’t much I can say but please don’t give up on Allah’s mercy brother/sister Allah has promised in surah as-Sharh “Indeed, with every hardship comes ease” Allah does not break a promise. There is a cure for every disease. I make dua for your recovery, and hope for your situation to get better InshaAllah ❤
Yes! As a revert I see so many Muslims who live almost as if they are ashamed of their deen and afraid of the kuffar! Be a proud Muslim!
