Hi John, this is a strange story. a few years ago now, I was walking, or rather I was wobbling around after lots of alcohol at a metal festival. I think it was maybe at a sonisphere festival at knebworth. I got given some guitar plectrums totally at random as I was walking round and have had them in a draw for years. I just found them and they were printed up with John otway the movie. So I’ve finally just looked you up all these yrs later. I vaguely remember quite a conversation about how great the movie was going to be and it being an excitable talk to me. I have a feeling it may have actually been you yourself with a younger lad in the crowd if my drunken memory is right. Maybe he was a young director or something? I was literally accosted by you both and it was quite funny as I remember. If it was you then I’m about to finally catch up on the movie and find out more about your work. Apologies for my ignorance to this day, but I think this is quite a funny story as it seems you are well known (just not to me I’m sorry) and not just someone who was doing some college assignment video or something handing out these plectrums as I thought and just put the plectrums in a drawer. Did I meet accidentally meet a megastar? …I’m about to find out. Lol I’m 45 so maybe just before my time a bit? I literally just found the plectrums after all these yrs and my John otway journey is about to start. It looks interesting. Lol I thought I’d just let you know I found the plectrums and Im about to be educated. Lol
you should try and make a cover of 'mass communication' but lockdown-themed 'I can stand in front of my video camera, so my friends can watch me sing my song for pamela!'
