Thanks for this . Good ideas only the focus pull won’t work for me. Pressing and holding to make a mark does nothing . When the pull runs it goes into and then past focus . Can’t seem to work out why it does this.
At 5:00 you talk about changing aperture. Can't change aperture on iPhone. What you were pointing to on the exposure slider is the shutter speed...you can change shutter speed via Filmic Pro.
Thanks for the tutorial man. Since I'm new to Filmic and filming in general, I'm going to get the upgrade and let Log V3, the new one, do the work. Once I get to a place where I need more professional work, I'll have to learn how to color grade in post and what not. Also, why do I feel @7:43 you didn't know it had the vector graph until you were clicking through it haha. Awesome video brother. New sub.
Thanks for the tips. Is there a feature where I can see whether or not there will be noise introduced in the video? And or make shadows stays black instead of trying lighten up these areas. Is there a feature to let you notice camera shake/movement while filming? I.e. a line graph like some earthquake metric device.
Thanks so for this video!!!I was trying so hard to understand Focus Pull and couldn't just get it right and you explained it so brilliantly!!! You are a great teacher! :) Made it so simple!!
I love shooting B-Rolls with my S20 Ultra and just purchased the app and cinematography kit today. Your video has been extremely helpful! Thank you so much!!
I’ve literally only started using filmic pro..., it’s a little confusing but I’m getting there. Got the Osmo mobile 3 which it’s now compatible with.... tutorials om3 and 4 please
@@ContentCreationWithMatt thank you. I recently started getting into photography/videography mainly for family stuff. I’ve been using Protake (paid) and wanted to dive in a bit more into color grading. I wasn’t sure if I could with ProTake’s LogC.
@@ContentCreationWithMatt thank you. You should try ProTake. I like it a bit better than Filmic Pro. I just wished it was capable of recording in 10bit. Maybe in the future it will. As far as luts, I’m still unsure what that is. Shows how much of a noob I am 😂.
Thanks foe the tips! I will try them out. I use filmic pro on two devices to see myself when I’m doing makeup videos. Sometimes I can’t see myself on my iPad on the filmic remote - all I see is a black screen. To fix it I have to kill the app on my phone and restart the app again. Do you have a solution for this please?
I love Filmic Pro. Thanks for that focus pull hint, love it. And the shutter speed. I use 25fps so need 1/60th, but without ND filters it’s only got ISO to change. Since getting my Google Pixel 4, I can’t get 50fps any more!
I find that when you shoot in 24 frames per second or 30 frames per second and double the shutter speed in the daytime that it's overexposed no matter what. Will I need to get a neutral density filter to overcome this problem? Because I really find the opportunity to shoot in the golden hour
Hey guys -- not trying to be nitpicky here, but what you call a "focus pull" isn't really what a "focus pull" is -- I mean, *technically* it is, but . . . With a "real" "focus pull" you are panning the camera (or tilting, or dollying, whatever -- you're moving the camera) from one subject to another without stopping the recording process, and the focus point of the two subjects is different. Thus, while the camera is panning (moving) the focus is changed from subject A to subject B. The camera movement hides the change in focus. In the "old days" (and even now I believe) there was a person on the set who was responsible for manually rotating the focus ring on the camera lens (you put tape on the lens, get focus on subject A and mark the tape with a pen, then focus on subj B and mark the tape with a pen; then start your shot at focus point A, end on focus point B) -- that person was (is) literally called a "focus puller." In other words, it's not so much a movement from out of focus to in focus, or vice versa, but a camera movement from one subject to another that requires a change in focal length. I just wanted to put this out there, because it's a WAAAAAAAY more useful tool if you think of it/use it in this method, than if you're solely using it to go from in focus --> out of focus -- *especially* if you're going from in to out of focus, because then it doesn't really matter HOW out of focus you are, so you don't need a specific point of "out of focus" that you need to achieve, you just need to be "out" of focus. Not trying to give you a hard time, just trying to help. Like I said, not trying to be nitpicky, just wanting us all to be better filmmakers.
My Note 20 Ultra does not allow manual focus and anything over 30fps doesn't work, or app locks up, and 8k isn't even an option. Supposedly, Samsung is being bratty about 3rd party app control over the camera. If I had known this before I might have never even bought the phone.
in Filmic pro 4k resolution is not working on Samsung Galaxy S8. Original video recording on Samsung Galaxy S8 have more beautiful graphic . Filmic pro is really bad app🚫 I paid 30€ for Filmic pro, I hope to return my money and delete this app.

@@ContentCreationWithMatt Hi Matthew. Thanks for explaining that. Yup, Filmic Pro on iPhones allows you to change shutter but not aperture.

Seriously. That was the best and most useful Filmic app video I’ve seen yet. Honor to you sir. Well done.
Thank you! Very useful!
Appreciate the tutorial. Well planned and presented.

Too bad Samsung won't let Filmic Pro allow you to use all features. It is not fully supported for Samsung phones.

Hi. If the first dot from the left is for ISO and shutter length settings, then what are the other two for? best regards

What does the ISO BIAS dots do?

On my Galaxy S8 default camera I can film in 1080 60 frames per 2nd but On filmic pro it limits it to 30 frames per 2nd when shooting in 1080P.
