"Consecration to Mary launches our lives toward the great goal of all things through, with, in, for Mary for the greater glory of Almighty God. In all things. On any given day none of us is in total commitment. In us is a chorus of vices saying, Not right now, Not at all. As much as the heart desires to say Yes Lord. It's very hard to reorient. For many an act of consecration is not fully mastered, absorbed. We do only a partial consecration saying Mary I am sort of all yours. Or: I could take all of my wealth and give it to the banker, get it invested, I keep control over it, I decide how long it stays there....Mary, I am all yours? That beautiful 4 page prayer where we stay I give you everything that is mine, not simply to protect or safeguard it, but you use it, I will not take it back, my talents, material goods, my all, these are all yours. I But I cannot offer the will, the disposition of another person. I am all yours. Everything that is mine is yours. How can we give ourselves totally? Through Jesus Christ alone. In honor of the incarnation, to take part in the self giving of Jesus who made Himself totally on our Lady. Jesus gave Himself totally to us through Mary, we give ourselves totally to Him through Mary, too. Any lingering reluctance in self giving? What about me still hesitates, what in me still wants to dictate? There is no true consecration that does not involve the gift of time and attention. Prayer is a gift of our time to the Lord...The original title was not Preparation for Consecration but for Preparation for Holy Slavery. That is difficult for us. Jesus in the language of the Scriptures stepped out of heaven and took the form of a slave. Our Lady when Gabriel appeared to her, said, Behold the handmaid (slave) of the Lord. St. Paul describes himself as a slave. Our fall from Adam into sin made us slaves. All too many of us live that slavery everyday, this is the sad and unfortunate truth of the human condition. What is a slave? He who works and never does rest. Getting lost in one's work, never recovering, even holy business, and becoming less and less present to the Lord. We cannot be lost in the doing of things; we have to give our time and attention to the Lord. We all belong to God anyway. God never consults us. When we fell He went ahead and saved us. Let us embrace who we really are - we are not our career, our culture, our talent. Let us live the belonging to the slavery of Love. A servant gets a paycheck, a servant can quit, a servant can decide when to work, when not. A slave has to be there all the time. A slave cannot say No. This is why our slavery has to be voluntary, given in love, freely. Let us unite ourselves to our Lady so our lives can be rooted in Christ. Consecration relates to the perfect devotion to our Lady, a holy slavery or the slavery of love - a radical complete belonging to our Lady, which has no end...."

Teresa, didn’t Our Lady say “Do whatever He tells you”? And Christ turned the water into wine. What mother wants the glory for herself, especially if she is the Mother of God? To say what you do is so wrong because that would mean Jesus Christ was born of a mother less worthy of being His Mother. It just doesn’t add up and I hope you can see the logic and you see what she truly is and how much she loves you and wants to bring Jesus to all. Peace. 🌹

This above sermon about : The Essence of Total Consecration (Holy Slavery) , is both impressive, appealing and provocative for much more serious consideration, and undergoing or learning the step by step process necessary to understanding what is required of this consecration.
The initial prayers and process are outlined in this small, beautifully written: "Secret of Many". Even so, it is also very necessary that one finds out all the details about the people who write and produce books, and programs for the internet and media. We are made up of emotions and feelings and our compassion and our understanding of this saint´s life, even as a child, ( Louis was one of eighteen children, no less! ) help us to understand his supernaturally motivated filial love and idealisation for the Maternity of Mary and the Sonship of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Because of my reawakening to Christianity, I became very intense about re-learning about Jesus, Mary and all the saints , and even the angels. I spent hours and hours researching on my computer the most devotional books and learned from browsing the net that "The Devotion to Mary" by Saint Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort, was the greatest book on devotional practices to Mary ever written ! ; so, I promptly bought it, and was somewhat taken aback by it and found it really difficult to plow through with full concentration. It seemed to discuss Mary´s qualities very beautifully, but, still it left me cold. This was three years ago. Since then, I thought that my heart would melt , if I understood more about the author´s biography. It was not easy to find a biography, and the only one that was even cited was unavailable from Amazon. com. I was fortunate in 2018 to receive an excellent biography written by E.C. Bolger, S.M.M. from Abe Books ! Even this biography repelled me at the beginning and I felt that Fr. Bolger seemed unduly enthusiastic about this dour , dry and austere personality ! I stopped and started through the first third of the book , and then left it aside. In the meantime , "Friends of the Cross" and "the Secret of Mary" arrived. These were wonderful; and I read them ; BUT stumbled over the fact that the word: " slavery" , sloppily practiced could lead to one´s CONDEMNATION ! This worried me. My internal argument with myself , `was` and `still is´: Jesus Christ´s own words in MATTHEW 5: 33 - 37. However, it is wrong to be fearful. Jesus and Mary are not ogres ; it would be disrespectful to consider them , so, ready to fault us, at every turn . . . yet, there is always danger and fear, in being PRESUMPTUOUS, of gifts of mercy, too ; and it is difficult to strike the middle path ! It was no help to me, that, my sincerely-, believing- and faithful- to- God, Southern- Baptist daughter- in- law, debated with me about Mary with the cliché arguments of all protesters against Catholicism ; ( that we adore and make many gods!) "apologetics" in defense of our faith, is a sadly neglected subject and so necessary , now , in our time, where Satan seems to be gaining more and more ground. Also, since I reside in the Lutheran country of Norway, I have heard all these arguments about Mary, ad infinitum ! Now, I have returned to the Fr. Bolger book: THE MAN CALLED MONTFORT and found that I misjudged the book and that little by little, it seemed to become more interesting, eventful and enlightening, so enlightening, that I have been gripped by a real conviction of his enormous heroism and personal sacrifice of his life . He died at 43 of exhaustion, plain and simple. He was a man of great moral and physical strength and achieved an enormous amount in his short life of forty- three years old! His life was full of drama and peril. He made thousands of converts but had his small share of lethal enemies and was even poisoned at one village and never seemed to regain his strength after this incident. He was a very convincing ORATOR and had a sense of drama, a natural talent. God did not leave him "high" and "dry". His uncompromising moral courage and physical heroism were enormous and his life of prayer, gave him intimacy with God. He received from the Holy Ghost the gift of healing and many artistic talents. He pursued painting from meagre savings (as he spent all on the plentiful poor, sick and destitute of his day). He was talented at would carving and actually had other skills because of his upbringing in rural France. His share of mystical events and experiences were numerous. He, also, practiced physical penances and mortifications, such as extreme fasting and some penances "diciplines" with whips, that devout people in France practiced in his day; and these are recorded in the wonderful treasure of this book by Father E.C. Bolger, S.M.M. who took eight years to author the life of: Fr. Louis M. de Montfort´s life ! ( Fr. Bolger , himself, a priest, died in a tragic car accident in 1958, but, still managed to complete the work just before he was killed.) The book has been published by the Montfort Press, 28 Burbo Bank Road, LIVERPOOL L23 6TH and can be purchased on the online book store: Abe Books.

i don't understand the use of the word 'slavery' as applied to marian consecration. i thought we were adopted sons and daughters of God. a son isn't a slave. didn't he create us to be free? someone who is free is not a slave. slaves can get beaten and mistreated, sometimes even for the pleasure of the master, so why should we use the word slave like this? really questioning if i should even do this consecration.

I agree. I don't like them using this term for the children's consecration either

Google the Pagan goddess “Semiramis with child” ( Nimrod). Notice the similarities to your graven Images of Mary and Child. She was called “The Queen of Heaven “.
    You have been deceived.
