The queen is 9, the rooks are 5 each, the bishops and knights are 3 each and the pawns are 1 each which by my calculation gives 39 points of material. In order to get the remaining 34 points, you need to promote your own pawns into 2 more queens, 2 more rooks and 2 knights/bishops. That is insane.

My favorite win was when my opponent had mate in two but only three seconds left, he checked me and I had one possible move left - interpose my queen. He would then take my queen and it was checkmate. I made the move and he had about two seconds left but his clock ran out. I imagine he already thought he had checkmate and realized just a little too late. I felt uplifted by the undeserved win and went on a winning streak.

I peaked at 1360 elo after playing for half a year during the pandemic when I first started playing chess, I was proud of myself, but then I started playing during nights up to 2 am, often drunk and my elo droped back to 1100. I was so demoralized I no longer play rapids and only play some blitz from time to time. Your videos are always entertaining to watch, you motivate me to go back! Great video as always

    • @ultimamateria1604

Gms still discover and play new positions each tournament. There is a ton of beauty in the game, especially if you're not a titled player, because then you don't actively play like a computer and after those 20 moves of theory you will create something genuine or lose
