One thing that really concerns me about the defense is just a question. Does anyone know if Durkin normally teaches his defensive backs to turn and find the ball? It kills me when a defender will not turn to find the ball.

I sat in the end zone and watched our kicker Towns McGough (if I misspelled the name My Bad)! That guy has a leg that’s comparable to Jason Elam. He was nailing 60+ yard field goals and he had yards to spare on almost every one. The few that he missed weren’t not good because he left em short. He kicked a ball that I could’ve caught but it was whistling so loud that I was scared to get under it. I was extremely impressed. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

I usually come on here and bash our team and holler 6-6 every single year. I had questioned have we really gotten better at receiver. I had big questions about our d line getting pushed around. I also was skeptical about us losing our whole secondary even though folks were saying we had plenty of talent stepping in to replace the guys that left for the nfl. After watching the game yesterday i actually feel much better about 2024 than I did before yesterday. We can win 8 games next season. I think our defense will be better next year. Our offense will also be better next year. I still think freeze screwed up by not getting Riley Leonard or cam ward. Our qb hasn’t improved but we do have better receivers which will make him look better . He’s got a weak arm and if your going to have a weak arm you need to be smart as hell and always know where to go with the ball and anticipate throws ahead of time . Thorne doesn’t do any of that well. He’s still our best option right now but he’s really the only thing that’s really holding this team back . With our schedule next year if we had Leonard or ward we could win 9-10 games and possibly competing for a playoff spot. Besides that I’m pleased with what I saw with the secondary and receivers and d line which were my big concerns. I know some might be worried about the o line not providing much room for the running backs but it’s hard to run the ball in spring when the defense knows the qb isn’t going to pull it and run the ball. They can sale out to stop the running back because they know that the qb isn’t running. Our o line pushed around Alabama and at time Georgia last year. They should be fine. I’m coming off my 6-6 preseason prediction. I see 7-8 wins now.

Yeah you can tell PT doesn’t have the zip on his passes that WW does. And I noticed WW gets the ball out of his hands a lot quicker which led to some mistakes but that will improve as opposed PT which is still indecisive and not throwing with anticipation.
