Kova is very underrated by other fan bases for some reason. We love him at Chelsea.

Really interesting 5, no De Bruyne or Kante but 5 quality players
Having played against all these players the ones he chose must’ve had a particularly strong impression on him when playing against them. The view of a player will normally be different to that of a viewer so it makes sense why some of the bigger names weren’t their. Same way most Tottenham players say the best player they ever played with was Moussa Dembele yet at that time he wasn’t getting as much praise as Kane, Son, Eriksen etc.

He’s a cdm who recognizes Cdm’s 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I’m a cdm & i think such players have been in the shadow for a every long time since Keane & Vieira. To his list you’d add Kante but I don’t think anyone would be surprised with his list & I highly rate Kovacic he’s one of the few cdms who can control tempo of the game & it’s rarely talked about! Chelsea have thrived on him so much but it goes unnoticed

Personally as a chelsea fan on a game by game basis I would actually put Kova above Kante as he is far better vs deep defensive teams.
Obviously Kante is often unbelievable in the big matches with abit more counter attacking space. Hard to compare those 5 as they are quite different

As a Liverpool fan who watches the team religiously, our 2 most important players are van dijk then fabinho. I find it crazy how someone like fabinho isn’t spoken about in every “top 5 midfielders” debate whether thats premier league or the world. Not complaining but I don’t see how a player of his level goes under the radar. Perhaps because his game isn’t the best on the eye but if hes playing the full backs have confidence to get forward and play the way klopp wants his fullbacks to play. Take him out and we struggle
Very Respectable top 5 in my opinion, don't have a problem with it, i personally think KDB is a must in the top 5 but his top 5 is still respectable, some really good picks.

Declan is not just world class but he has everything...knows the club, knows the league, knows the city, knows what it means to play for the badge. He has a good with his feet, can play a pass, physically strong, run for miles and most of all his leadership is second only to Jordan and Harry.

I’m too biased for this, my top 5 is Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic, Thiago, and Bernardo Silva but there’s too many that are right about the same level that it’s hard to rank, Rice, Fabinho, Rodri, De Bruyne, Pogba, Soucek, Henderson, Fernandes etc are obviously all world class too
I think the reason he didn't pick Bruno or De Bruyne is because he's thinking more about true centre midfielders or defensive midfielders.

It's his personal opinion, and those players must've really gave him tough times. 5 quality players too, Kovacic and Bissouma got the recognition they deserved. Surprised he didn't mention Soucek, because he's one hell of a player (but maybe Soucek played CB sometimes).
Personally i think the top 5 right now are, Kante, KDB, Thiago, Bernardo, Bruno. Kovacic, Fabinho, Rodri, Soucek, Bissouma could easily fit in there as well.
Some are underrated, the likes of Henderson, Neves, Ward-prowse, Elneny, Winks, Moura, Tielemans.
Some got massive potential, Elliot, Mount, Sancho, Rice, Foden.
I can't believe he didn't mention de bruyne I'm not a city supporter but I appreciate how world class de bruyne is and he is probably the best passer that has being in the Premier league as well. Also one of the best things about him is that he is consistent and can also play well when it comes to the big games.
