I tried these on in my lcoal Spez Concept store. I have my s works recon for dry days, s works 6 for road, and my 3.0 recon in green. I tried on the new 3.0 hooping the boas would be better and the overall shoe would be much better than my 3.0. First issue was my right foot was pushing all the way to the end. Also the tongue appeared to be badly stitched and was cramping fown on my foot. I informed the assistant but he simply did not care. These are 210 pound shoes. I am not impressed at all. I stopped buying the older s works helmet before it went to the aero version as the quality and sizing changed. I used to be an S and now an M and the materials were cheaper. I now have a Kask Protone. Spez. I am not happy. Lifelong customer is slowly moving away.
Damn, so if Im 47 in the old 3.0 i can no longer count on that being my size in the new? Do you think that goes for the new sworks model as well? Any size differences in the old recon 3.0 vs sworks recon? Looove my old recon 3.0 but they are breaking, so difficult finding a replacement
Hard find locally. No shops selling them within 500 miles of New York City. I considered buying them from the specialized website but the measurement function on website is whack.. I am usually size 11 but Specialized tells me I should be ordering almost 12.5 - 13?? No way, without trying them on.
It's confusing that you changed the design of the shoe, but call it 3.0, like it's predecessor. It should be called 3.1, to show the iterative change, while retaining the generational base design. Otherwise, what was the point of the .0 in the shoe name? I'm sure your dealers aren't happy with having to constantly explain to customers that it really is a new shoe. Not to mention online reviews are currently all pointing to the prior gen shoe, which doesn't help get the word out that you have a new shoe. Also, a feature request: please make a natural foot-shaped, wider toe box version (with normal heel cup shape, not equally wider). I love my prior gen 3.0, but foot goes numb after two hours, due to being too tight in toe box, plus toe splaying/swelling over time. Sizing up leaves the heel too loose.
