Actually, that was worse since no one detected until he landed the plane and got out to say hello to the locals. He finally got caught when two Moscow police beat cops on duty spotted him.
SAM will not be put in any building and if there are anti air its not allowed to fire anything because there in the city, civilian casualties might occur.
For me it's amazing how an alert interception jets were scrambled with bombs for a GROUND STRIKE (1:26), loosing them and their air to air missiles magically while taking off (1:28) and then re-having their air to air missiles again - no bombs this time (1:29), all in a 3 second period. AMAZING ! obviously the real footage here is just a collection of unrelated F15 takeoffs, not to mention the OBSENE amount of CGI following it. Also, in today's world, an airborne radar, and specifically the F15's, can lock from at least 50 miles and fire radar guided missiles from 20 miles away easily. all the close up scenes are exaggerated way too much, and I couldn't even begin talking about the amount of wrong things in 5:11, 5:36, 6:20 - "Physics ? oh that's just a recommendation". In short, any connection between what is shown here and a real dogfight is highly improbable, to say the least. But hey, if people enjoy this than who am I to say anything?

The actors actually were on real planes (they were in the co-pilot seat while trained US navy pilots were actually doing all the flying), and suffered real G effects on their bodies. A vast majority of the things you will see there are REAL footage, expect of things you simply cannot do no matter what, like firing missiles at planes etc.

No its not possible. The turn radius of a fighter jet would be too high. You'd have to do it by flying slow, but then it might be hard to get the bank angle and you'd be worrying about stalling. This sequence is almost as ridiculous as the one in Behind Enemy Lines, where the F18 dodges SAMs and then turns around and goes head on with a SAM.

Nice action sequences! It is even technically accurate since in a dogfight a MiG-29 should have a slight advantage over the F-15. The North Korean pilot seems immensely well trained and experienced. I am gonna watch the whole movie now.

Then it becomes an WVR fight, where the Russian philosophy of launching two simultaneous missiles at the target (with different seekers - IR & X-Band) has a much higher probability of kill, as was demonstrated in Vietnam war.

The MiG-29 was the first to do the Cobra; the Su-27 just proved capable of doing it as well. However, a MiG-29 CANNOT do a Cobra with a centre-line fuel tank. In fact, I am not certain if it can with a full internal fuel load either.

After seeing this cool looking exaggerated fighter jet action I now appreciate Hollywoods style for at least trying to deliver a more believable and realistic depiction of combat flight scenes.

This North Korean Mig-29 in the movie doesn't have 3D Thrust Vector System and they can't maneuver like the Sukhoi's, they actually maneuver like the F-15 but the F-15s are much better. This movie is just a bad movie physics.

Mig 29 vs F 15s?! An aircraft like the Eagle F 15 can easy get a BVR (beyond visual range) shot even before the Mig sees the missile coming . Nice graphics though
True. But there is a very valid reason it was not used, either here or in real battlefields: Rules of Engagement.
The Rules of Engagement here required visual confirmation (a fact that the opposition knows, and played by having one damaged aircraft fly and moving the wings to signify peaceful intentions).
US also fought with these rules of engagement in its previous two wars.
Also, a BVR lock is meaningless, all it means that you have now launched a radar guided missile at a long range, which any decent fighter (including upgraded MiG-21bis) will jam and then defeat with ECM and chaff. Then it becomes an WVR fight, where the Russian philosophy of launching two simultaneous missiles at the target (with different seekers - IR & X-Band) has a much higher probability of kill, as was demonstrated in Vietnam war.

In real life, it would not have been F-15Ks intercepting those MiGs. South Korea's F-15s are based in the southern part of the country. In reality, the interception would have almost certainly been done by F-4s or F-16s, which are based closer to the DMZ

The MiG-29 was the first to do the Cobra; the Su-27 just proved capable of doing it as well. However, a MiG-29 CANNOT do a Cobra with a centre-line fuel tank. In fact, I am not certain if it can with a full internal fuel load either.
If the Iraqis had F-15s and the US MiG-29s then the US would have won.

i'd believe it, because the US maintains its fleet AND its pilots with training an exercises. its a combat ready military force, the stuff that iraq had probably wasnt even airworthy and if it was, probably was borderline derelict and its pilots would have struggled to grasp the basics beyond go forward and left and right
