    Her Majesty, the Queen Margrethe is speaking in English, her hopes and wishes expressed in a delightful expression. As a British citizen, her expression and her reception is delightful. Thank you, Your Majesty...The United Kingdom loves you and your family....May you long reign over your nation, and may you be blessed to see many, many more years! ❤❤❤❤ From the United Kingdom, who lost their belovéd Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II recently 🙁🙁😟

    Queen Margrethe II seemed to be a genuine, kind, and modest monarch. I love it when she animatedly speaks with other royals. Look at that Nine Provinces Tiara wearing by the very regal and sophisticated, Queen Mathilde! Breathtaking! Her Majesty's eye-smile adds up to her glow, really! 💗👑💐

    Her Majesty Queen Margaret he has a beautiful accented English speaking voice. As an American royal enthusiast of all things European royal. I've enjoyed watching the videos of royal state videos I've watched over the last week or so, mostly of those given by Queen Elizabeth given in honor for the Kings and Queens of the Netherlands🇳🇱 and 🇪🇸.

    When a Danish Queen is addressing a Belgium King in English, you know English is finally without doubt the defacto tongue in the diplomatic world.

      Luka Yu I think it is. I was a diplomat for over thirty years and hardly ever spoke anything else. It used to be French and I rather think the French still wish it was.

    • @DaniHMcV
      @DaniHMcV 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It is. When did you ever think otherwise? It’s been yhe official language for the finance world and the official language to speak when several speakers of varying languages are present. Everyone knows english. That’s why English speakers are rarely bi- or multi-lingual.

    • @mscott3918
      @mscott3918 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      DlchMcV Exactly so. French was, so they said, The civilised language. Certainly retired diplomats I know that served in the forties and fifties said it was more or less essential, because anyone who was anyone spoke French. I think English became the international language, Funnily enough, when the EU started expanding, and some of the new languages were tricky. And of course, in Finance. I keep my self busy now with publishing interests in Frankfurt, Berlin and Weimar, and have to practically force colleagues to speak German. I prepare all my board papers in German and they all insist we work in English. Doesn't help my German of course. Thinking about it, the only place I had to use French was when serving in Ottawa.

    Queen Margarita of Denmark had performed a recently State Visit at Argentina.
    She was so charming and she was very admired by our people.
    She visited too a city call Tandil situated at Buenos Aires Province where a community of Danish descendant live over there.
    It was her Second visit to Argentina, the first time it took place , when she was a single beautiful young girl. It took place during the sixty decade.

    Why was Philippe so shocked when Margrethe started her speech? What the hell happened?

    • @BucyKalman
      @BucyKalman 7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      I noticed it too. That was weird ! In fact, I had the impression that Philippe and Mathilde seemed overwhelmed by the formality of the Danish court, or perhaps intimidated by Queen Margrethe's seniority. They looked so shy and deferential in the entrance procession that it was almost cute.

    • @fishflavoredicecream
      @fishflavoredicecream 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      lol that could be. Although his face was so intense especially at 1:50 that my theory went along the lines of Margrethe grabbing the wrong piece of paper and she just winged it from then on, while he looks on confused and amazed. But that may be a bit far fetched.
      Nevertheless, that still doesn't explain why Phillipe's face looked like somebody just slapped him out of nowhere.

    • @kalmanbucy6485
      @kalmanbucy6485 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yes, he does. He speaks English with a French accent as can be seen in his speech, but Philippe is fluent n English, Dutch and German besides his native French.

    • @faithfulchristian9171
      @faithfulchristian9171 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I think he looks shocked, but I don't think he was; it is likely just a peculiarity of his face at that moment.

      Good! I never heard the queen of England speaking French or something else but only English. I enjoy listening to the Danish and Swedish and Belgian speaking various languages no matter the accent.
      English people often criticize people who have an inflection in English while they can only speak English.

    At about 1:50 King Philippe has the most shocked expression. "King? Of Belgium? Seriously? King of BELGIUM? Really? Well, I suppose that explains all the sashes, but someone should have mentioned this before dinner. Did you guys realize I'm the KING...of BELGIUM? Goodness me!"

    • @ladydamiana6841
      @ladydamiana6841 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's because the proper form of reference to him is "King of the Belgians," not "King of Belgium"-----just as the Greek rulers were Kings "of the Hellenes" and not "of Greece."

    Margrethe is known to many Royal Families of Europe as "Daisy",because she is descended from Princess Margaret of Connaught,Queen Victoria's Grand Daughter.Daisy (it seems) is a diminutive of Margaret.

    • @BucyKalman
      @BucyKalman 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Paradox The name of the flower 'daisy" is "marguerite" in French and 'margarita' in Spanish. However, "Marguerite" and "Margarita" are also given names , whose equivalent form is "Margaret" in English and "Margrethe" in Danish. That is why "Daisy" is a synonim for "Margaret" in English.

    • @BucyKalman
      @BucyKalman 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Belgian royal couple is wearing the sash of the Danish order of the Elephant, which is worn over the left shoulder. The Danish royals on the other are wearing sashes of Belgian orders (the order of Leopold for Queen Margrethe and CP Frederik, the order of the Crown for CP Mary and Prince Joachim, and the order of Leopold II for Princess Marie). The sashes of all Belgian orders are worn over the right shoulder.

    Just curious: why is the speech in English?

    • @BucyKalman
      @BucyKalman 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Belgium has three official languages: French, Dutch and German. QMII speaks both French and German, but she doesn't speak Dutch. To avoid any political embarassment, she had to use a "neutral" language then. English was the natural choice, as both Philippe and Mathilde also speak it (unlike Danish, for example,).

    Queen Mathilde has quite a tic going on. I’ve seen that exact tic in members of my own family. It really amps up when she is listening to someone. She has to lightly press her lips together every few seconds. I hope it’s just a thing and not the start of something more. She’s so young, even for a tic like that. Maybe it was something she picked up as a speech therapist.

      Queen Victoria is not known as the Grandmama, Great Grandmama and Great Great Grandmama (and so on down the line) of Europe for no reason. The Dutch and the Belgians are the exceptions. Every other crowned head is a direct descendant.

    I’m surprised the speech was given in English! 👏 by a Danish Queen to Belgian royalties.

      Queen Margrethe speaks fluent French but not everybody present at the banquet would have understood.

    I doubt Tintin was inspired by a Danish boy traveler (or "traveller" in British/Canadian spelling).

    Où qu'il se trouve ou intervienne officiellement, le Roi Philippe semble toujours très embarrassé ou étonné ; il reste évident qu'il est mal à l'aise dans son rôle de roi des belges .

    Facial expression of Belgian royals is hilarious...Margrathe is babbling & babbling danish state reception too informal than what German house of England does ...but I love Granny Margarethe

    Во Имя БОГА, Любимого.
    Хвала Господу Земли и Небес. БОГ один.
    ОН не с кем не делит Власть. В сотворении
    мира Великий Замысел, и будущий вечный
    мир тоже будет Построен. БОГУ это легко,
    бойтесь Дня воздаяния. БОГ спросит у
    измышлявших ЕМУ детей и сотоварищей.
    Следуйте Мне Пророку.
    БОГ владеет Великим
    Троном, и ЕМУ подвластно все. ОН не
    пожелал иметь детей и помощников. Ангелы,
    Пророки и все человечество, созданные
    БОГОМ рабы. ОН все решает как посчитает
    нужным, и никто ЕГО за это не спросит.
    Бойтесь БОГА, Повинуйтесь Мне Пророку.
    БОГ Прощающий, Милосердный. Пророк
    Камил.
