No mention of the W201 190 2.6 ? a few have been swapped with a M104 but one has a 3.4 AMG engine.... The guy doing the work on it has a 190 Cosworth which had belonged to the boss of F1 himself. The car that did a better tme than Parks wasn't a M127 powered car ,but a M100!. If you ever see pics of it parked at the track, you can see the bulge on the bonnet and Rudi along with Waxl only drove it once as it was eating tires and was scrapped.
Congrats to another great video with a lot of factory stuff and good research. Would like to add though - the spoiler kit found on the 16V models was available as an optional extra to the entire W201 lineup.

incredibly beautiful cars! when I drive my w211 e550 I feel like a king. I want many more Mercedes ...used to work for Mercedes in Jacksonville Fl and I drove all types...amg GT's, s63's, old school 300d's , g wagons, never a Maybach or a 600 or a pagoda but god do I love these machines.
The W201 was a "mist" in the history and admiration here in the USA compared to the W123! While the W123 continues to escalate in value for nice ones, the 190E can be purchased for almost nothing in comparison! Having driven MB for 45 years, it is amazing to see these models are just not popular in America!
At the time, the new W201 was known by a title not mentioned in the video - presumably this was not an "approved" nickname! That was the "Baby Benz" - it was considered very small at the time as the E series (not yet known by that name) was the "standard" Mercedes used as a taxi all over the world, and the larger - 220S and subsequent models - were the deluxe cars. Yes, Daimler-Benz was nervous about the positioning of the Baby Benz, and the executives of the time would probably have cringed to foresee my Mum's A140 of later years!
Well done guys. Your research and editing was superb.

Could hardly understand the bloke in red jacket…
That green Grosser FYY80H, isn't it Clarkson's or was?
It still is. We're grateful he lent it for the day.
