Big improvement for me. The old firestick had a delay every time moving around home screen, even with all apps cleared. Biggest improvement for me, is the wifi upgrade. I now get full mbps and streams run smooth
Thanks for the detailed review. I just ordered the new upgraded 4K Max in 🇨🇦. Hopefully I can still setup the Emotn Launcher and sideload all my apps. All in all we have 3 older Firestick 4K and 3 Firestick 4K Max all running Emotn and very happy with the performance. Cheers👍
I'm going from an Amazon Fire Stick 2nd gen from like around 2015 to a Fire Stick 4k Max. That 8GB to 16 GB boost and at about twice the RAM should help.

Nvidia Shield Pro still outpaces the new FireStick. In light of the existing competition, I'm surprised they didn't add at least one USB 3.0 port. The hardware specifications aren't enough. What about the OS? Have they found a way to block side loading? Or to completely block Wolf Launcher or similar launchers? I would suspect this would be their objective in light of previous firmware updates to disable / abate these useful features. I'll never understand why they would force you to watch ads on a device that you purchased. Why should anyone have to pay to watch ads?
i agree the Nvidia is still on top overall. But you can't argue with the specs and reliability at this price point. Nvidia needs to release a 100$ stick

Nvidia uses the Tegra X1 chip(used in Nintendo switch) so I'm not sure they can release a new one yet until Nintendo does. Unless... Nvidia goes their own route and implements their own chip.
How many upgrades until we have a reasonable amount of storage in order to record and stuff. We still need to attache memory to the stick in order to have decent amount of space. Also, the 4k max never had 8g, does this one have 16g for real?
I wouldn’t say so. The cube still has a better processor + usb -c , built in Alexa and Ethernet port. But performance wise it’s definitely creeping up.

I'm getting the max. I like having the newest Fire Cube and Fire Stick. I will use their 20% trade-in offer for my current Fire Stick.

this is a hidden behind device. The cube also has a usb c port and ethernet port
you really need to use to contrast the differnce. the new 4K should be better overall than the old 4k max
