  • In this video I fit a new rear crankshaft seal on the John Deere 1640.
Hello Im Lance (aka Bundy Bear) and doing these videos is my hobby. I do own Queensland Tractor Spares in Australia where I sell parts and offer technical advise to customers.
Parts seen in our videos can be purchased from www.queenslandt...
We have a lot more than we can offer on our web site available to us and in our store. If you dont see what you would like please email info@queenslandtractorspares.com.au and we will help where we can.
I do try and help with technical advise at bundybearsshed@gmail.com if you have a question or are having trouble with your project.

I had to do this one time, it would have been impossible without the tool. Best $300 my employer spent that year.

I don’t have many videos up but a few years ago I did a short video of using the tool to put a John Deere seal in. Your video is a lot better, I didn’t say a word when I did mine ha!

The tool works on a lot of John Deere products but I see Isuzu uses something similar as well.

Great video. So you don’t need the protective ring with that type of seal?

    Bundy
great video and thank you v much.
Question- with a JD 6068 engine, 10000hrs, with rear main crank seal leak, engine otherwise running great, some blow by, do I need to think about engine rebuild or just do the seal???
    thanks
    Mick ireland

Do the seal first and see. If it doesnt last say 500hrs or more the engine may need work but do the cheap stuff first.

Squatch does some impressive work on some real relics. How do you drop something around an open bucket and miss? I can have an open bucket 20' away drop something, and I swear it teleports itself to the bottom of the bucket.

Someone notes that oil seal has a direction arrow stamp in rubber, it's in Wright direction??

Sure is it cant really be fitted back to front with the tool JD uses. It has been a few years since the video and it doesnt leak a drop.

Lance, just an engineer talking. Why not have a boss on your tool to locate in the crank to ensure alignment?

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Steel inner on the cassette seal so this tool it lines up well and slips over well.
