QUINLAN ROAD / LOREENA MCKENNITT: While we periodically reach out through social media, it’s something we do by default. In general, we do not endorse social media. Since 1998, the unregulated era of technology has all but decimated traditional media, which we feel is more accountable to a civil society. We’re also learning that digital technologies are responsible for 4% of greenhouse gas emissions, a figure expected to double by 2025. We therefore plan to continue advocating for a responsible and accountable media in whatever form that may take. In the meantime, we encourage you to stay in touch through the closest and most direct method possible, our email list. loreenamckennitt.com/community/ - เพลง
One of the most humane people I have ever seen. She is rare because her music comes from her soul, and is reflective of it.
a gift. Loreena McKennitt is a gift.
"The Seven Rejoices Of Mary"
The first good joy that Mary had
It was the joy of one.
The first rejoice that Mary had
Was to see her new born Son.
To see her new born son good man,
And blessed may He be.
Sing Father, Son and Holy Ghost,
To all eternity.
The next good joy that Mary had
It was the joy of two.
To see her son Jesus,
Make the lame to go.
The next rejoice that Mary had,
It was the joy of three.
To see her own son Jesus,
To make the blind to see.
To make the blind to see good man,
And blessed may He be.
Sing Father, Son and Holy Ghost,
To all eternity.
The next good joy Our Lady had,
It was the joy of four.
It was the rejoice of her dear Son,
When he read the bible o'er.
The next good joy that Mary had,
It was the joy of five.
To see her own son Jesus,
To make the dead alive.
To make the dead alive good man,
And blessed may He be.
Sing Father, Son and Holy Ghost,
To all eternity.
The next rejoice Our Lady had,
It was the rejoice of six.
To see her own son Jesus,
To bear the crucifix.
The next good joy that Mary had,
It was the joy of seven.
To see her own son Jesus,
To wear the crown of heaven.
To wear the crown of heaven good man,
And blessed may He be.
Sing Father, Son and Holy Ghost,
To all eternity.
And glory may He be,
And blessed now be she.
And those who sing the seven long verses,
In honour of Our Lady.
Auburn Grad
Ave Maria,
Gratia plena
Impressive
Blessed sometimes means happy.
Our Lady the immaculate conception Ora Pro Nobis!
Her Voice has a quality that reaches down to your deepest inner self and reminds you of ancient things you never seen and yet somehow connected to. When she sing, I can see and smell the story. I can see the mother, see the love light in her eyes ..
Love the Kingsfold tune, live these lyrics for reconciling the song to protestant theology by crowning Jesus rather than Mary.
It really does give an appreciation of the absolutely amazing and unique blessing given Mary. I don't think that any human being has ever been so blessed as Mary, not Adam, or Enoch, or Noah, not Abraham, or Jacob or Moses, or Isiah or John. It truly does bring tears to my eyes to contemplate that it was given to Mary to bear the Son of God into the world. To see Him suffer as the man of sorrows, given for the remission of our sins, that whoever believes in Him & keeps His commands shall not perish but be adopted into the divine inheritance which is life, an inheritance that we deserve not at all. Such is the Love of Adoni, El Elion to make such provision for the children of Adam's inheritance. There is nothing in all the world so precious as this gift of life.
Loreena McKennitt is a very talented vocalist. Her talents as a musician, vocalist and song writer is amazing. Her knowledge of different cultural styles of music and the way she blends them with traditional Irish themes is more than wonderful. I can’t help but thinking how this song would sound if the late great James Dewar did a duet with her.
Thanks Loreena…David Page.
Danke .....Loreena für die vielen Jahre deiner wunderschönen Musik 🙏 Thank you.....Lorreena for the many years of your beautiful music 🙏
One of the most beautiful voice I,ve ever heard
This carol, especially sung by Loreena, gives me chills. No other carol is so complete in its Christian theology, and no other voice on earth is as angelic as Loreena's! God Bless you, Loreena!
Beautiful song for beautiful Mother Mary. I love you Lorena.❤️
As a Catholic this holds special meaning; hers is the voice of an angel. Another great Christmas song is a duet with fellow Canadian Cedric Smith; "The King" from her album, "To Drive the Cold Winter Away" he also joined her on "Carrickfergus" from her first studio release "Elemental", which was the vehicle to launch her Quinlan Road label.
As an Orthodox, I can't agree you with enough!
Best comment ever as a muslim i enjoy this song. Pure grm.
Gem i mean
En tant que agnostique , je me réjouis en écoutant ce chant .
I heard the voice of Jesus say
Her musik is timeless!❤
Merveilleux et enchanteur ! Merci à Loreena et à son équipe !
Salve Regina!! May you have a blessed Advent and Christmastide!
One of my favourite Irish tunes 'The Star of the County Down'
Loreena thank you for this wonderful adaptation to your own words. Any singer that can hit an emotional part of this Celtic Scot's inner self is a rare thing.
The lyrics of 'The Star of the County Down' date back to the 19C (Cathal MacGarvey). The Seven Rejoices of Mary is much, much older... The melody can be found in other balads (try looking for 'Dives and Lazarus' on youtube).
Enamorado 😍 de toda su música 🎶
The most enchanting voice to accompany such excellence of instrumentation. 🎼 ❄️🎄♥️💚
Loreena ;Blessed may you be !
simply splendid. Save the Queen of Angels. Brazil present for the battle.
The voice of an angel to sing to the Heaven ❤
J'adore, j'adore, j'adore ....❤️❤️❤️
This is absolutely superb! A divinely beautiful voice from Heaven, from a divinely beautiful woman.
Thank you Loreena. Blessed may He be.
Un. Fuerte abrazo para ti Lorena. Mackenit. Desde mi tierra chilena.. Que dios te bendiga... Y aquí estoy escuchando tus canciones y entre duendes y adas bailando. Jijiji???

What a voice!!!
Always BRILIANT! You're just a Fairy, Loreena.
A song of the Angels!!!
Thank you Loreena, this song is divine.
This is my fav song of hers. Harmonies are out of this world! Especially the part at 2:45. Goosebumps… ❤
God bless you for blessing the Catholics. The Prots want none of this. It is a sweet word to us
Thank you for posting this lovely song, sung, as if by an angel.
This Goddess stunned me when I first heard her in 1995 and now I think she's my favorite artist Ever. Thanks for all the Magical Music Loreena !
Ditto
Beyonce is the goddess, that is a lost soul used as an idol for bend the masses to worship of the goat. (Oz is also Luciferian btw). Calling Loreena a 'Goddess', capitalized no less, demeans her, this song, and all it stands for. Loreena is a woman, nothing more. That God is gloried through her work makes her a wonderful woman. She is my favorite artist as well.
I first heard her about same time as you, definitely my favorite artist.
So so beautiful 🙏🏻
This is the melody of "The Star of the County Down".
I've had her entire catalog for years now, and it was only this Summer, 2014, that I heard both songs back-to-back on Random/Shuffle. Her xmas CDs have played at my Yule playlist out of respect for their significance in European history, but as a Pagan, I never realized how wonderful this melody really was until Midsummer.
Troy Evitt -- I am not a Pagan. On the flip side, actually--a Roman Catholic... I'm interested in learning a bit more about Paganism, mostly because I really don't know much about it... Could you please point me to some resources?...
I think Loreena does a beautiful job in reaching people from all walks of life... As a Christian, this song means a lot to me, especially as a Catholic who often thinks about how Mary must have felt in her life.
Then again, songs like The Mummers Dance covers an aspect of what I'm thinking is a Pagan tradition... Please, if I'm wrong, don't be offended and upset... (I don't think you would be... ) As I said, I don't know much about Paganism...
@@ramonathebrave start by reading a book called The Spiral Dance. It spells out the traditions of pre-christian celtic Europeans, as a people wholly dependant on their agriculture and their observations and calendars
@@tdioxin2658 thanks! I’ll definitely check it out!!
Hermosa melodía, me lleva a volar al más allá a encontrarme conmigo misma, gracias por tan sublime música🙏
Truer words were never spoken. What a shame the really great talent is so under appreciated. But it is there for anyone willing to search diligently enough to find it.
I had an experience where Mariam of Magdala walked out of time and stood beautifully, using her right hand to do a puppet show for children while holding a small round music box that played Egyptian music. When I looked at her, she told me to look carefully. Her face had a slightly dried layering and I was told, in mind, to think how that might be. It was humbling because I know I'm not the first to see such.
God Bless, this Angel - Loreena
How Sacred and Special is this unique song dedicated to the Blessed Mother Mary...Thank You, Loreena Mckennitt! God bless You...-J.C.
I just love her voice and music.
To many, Yeshua is an example of what can be when the spirit is set free. To Mary, he was her son. A beautiful song of unconditional love.
Indeed. And that's what moves me most about the story of Yeshua. His miracles and sermons were wonderful, of course, but what gets me most is to know that he was human. He was a son, a friend, a lover, a man. He was a spiritually enlightened human being, and he lived on Earth to show us we can all be the same when we put aside ego and human divisions like nationality, class, and dogma. Blessed be!
Thank you for your wonderful songs, dear Loreena. Fascinating to see you in the studio as well.
Iontach, Merveilleux, Wunderbar, נפלא, Wonderful. Lovely songs. Loreena’s compilations always carry the listener through the winds of many lands, venturing to continents, found for many, only in their dreams. Though it is far from the Christmas season, I find such a delight in listening to these timeless tunes. Lovely. Blessing to you all.

There are no words for how lovely this song is. A chaplet distilled to pure song. Good, true, and beautiful.
the *one* Christmas song that I'm able to listen not only in Christmas time, but anytime at all. Fabolous...
Beautiful! A women's choir I am in is going to sing this song for our Christmas Concert this year. I wanted to see what it's supposed to sound like. She has a truly beautiful voice.
c'est sans doute une des plus belles versions de cette chanson ! Bravo et see you soon next summer
In the same tune as The Star of the County Down, one of my favorites from Loreena McKennitt. She is amazing and this song is lovely.

Sung to the tune of 'The Star of the County Down.' Fascinating, and yet no one is talking about it.

Un giorno tornerò non ti dimentico non posso ❤ Loredana 🌃
Loreena's music was one of the artistic sources that taught me to be a full human being. I would love to hear she sing a Byzantine style chant, maybe Agni Parthene.
One of the most beautifull song...

All calmed down at once, she's great. Thanks for uploading some of her songs, because she's way better live than on the CD.
