  • Day 2 of our adventure on the Trans Euro Trail France! As seen in the video, we get into some rough stuff once again. Please know that I know our tyres aren't the best for offroad riding, we don't usually ride soo much offroad so 50/50's are the best option overall ;)

      If you can, buy another one. I hoped the cb500x would be much better than my old bike, but it wasn't like this. It has handlebar wobble since the first day. The water pump drips oil. And the warranty doesn't resolve this problems. Yes it is fun and economic to run, but it is not ok to have this problems with a new bike. And i dropped it on a field road with grass and dirt atr around 5km/h and i manage to bend the handlebar and broke the clutch lever. Its supposed to be an adventure bike. I dropped my old gs500 on pavement and i drive it in the back of a truck at a stop with 3 5 km/h and i didn't brake or bend anything.

    Great video! My off-road experience is rather limited, but I would still like to give you a tip which also applies to road travelling: try to pack your luggage as low as possible and closer to the center. The way your luggage is attached to the bike is asking for trouble. I know this from experience :D You have pannier racks, so you could use them to support some soft saddlebags.

    Another good video and you guys are doing great on those tyres. Tyres do made a huge difference. My friend has a CB500X and likes the Bridgestone AX41 adventurecross tyres as work well on and off road, low mileage is the trade off. Most others in our group like the MotoZ Adventure or RallZ tyres. I like the Mitas E-09 Dakar. Michelin Anakee wild are also supposed to be a good 50/50 option.
    Look forward to part 3! 👍

    I was a dummy and trying to ride on a Boulder field other day. I was frustrated I couldn't find a trail, nothing but woods and state parks around me and I struggle to find dirt roads and doable gravel roads for my cb5o0x. I said screw it and went into some big rocks like size of baseballs, bike slid out and went down. Brand new crash bars 5 days old installed and scratched em good on the left along with mirror and my alternator cover. Upset about alternator cover. 40 a new one not bad but going to use rustoleom paint on bars and cover and hope to make it not noticable! Need to find me some dirt roads asap! Cold temps soon here in USA pa

    • @WoBlink1961
      @WoBlink1961 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Nelson - I held off from buying a 21 model until I'd seen exactly what the changes were for the 22 model. Once I saw what had changed, I went straight out and bought the 2021 version! Although the USD forks are definitely an upgrade, I don't believe the twin discs are needed and just mean you have to buy two sets of disc pads ;) Personally, I'm not keen on the new graphics over the 2021 model either. And although Honda UK haven't yet announced the price, you can bet your cojones it'll be at least 250 quid more than the £6250 I paid for the 2021 model!!

    You are living my dream mate! I was feeling the endorphins rise in my blood stream throughout the whole video!
    Been wanting to buy a CB500x for about 3years now... (still studying at Uni... time and money...).
    I am doubting between the CRF300 Rally and the CB500x though. But as you may know in Flanders it's almost only asphalt riding, making the CRF300 Rally almost a joke as a daily-to-use bike... Also they are in the same price-range and I still think the CB500x gives you more quality/cash. Nonetheless I want to be able to take my bike all across Europe to ride the TET and you have proven it is possible with the CB500x!
    This summer I'll be riding my own CB500x on the TET! You may see yourself a a dream-enabler.
    -A fellow Flemish guy ;)

    • @thebrightrider
      @thebrightrider  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Happy to see you enjoyed the video :) I have to say though, for riding the TET I do not advice the CB500X. Like I've said: it is possible, but it's still a 200kg bike.. granted I didn't have the right tires for mud, but I also think the weight is very important.. I will make a video on this in the future, I'll conclude I won't be riding the TET anymore with this bike, I'll buy a second hand CRF 250 for that :) The CB500X is still a great bike and it will do in most situations, but mainly for light offroad like gravel and hillclimbs, maybe some sand and rocks, but not so much for mud and ruts

    for the money paid per bike , drop damage and maybe repairs , the cheapest option was your fathers old Himalayan, so that was the true adventure bike, no offense 😊
    Royal Enfield are financing a tour setting off on a Himalayan and 2 riders are going to take it to the south pole, the trip is called 90° south and are setting off on the 26th November 2021..hope they make it! 🤞💪

      If you fix everything yourself, the RE can be cheap if you can find the parts. Problem is that there's not much choice in dealerships in Belgium, so they tend to ask lots of money for service..

      @@thebrightrider I suppose it depends on what your idea of a true adventure bike is. I think you need better suspension..better fuel range. I rode one for a few days in Patagonia...It's a capable bike...but you can put offroad tyres on any bike and pretty much go anywhere..if you have the skills.
