Thank you for writing the Hiragana kana above the Kanji characters. I can read everything in Hiragana and Katakana, just ordered my first book of Kanji characters. It is called "Kanji Look and Learn. Has 512 Kanji characters to begin with on a rudimentary level. I know 512 is nothing compared to 5000 kanji characters but I am so ready and elated to study Kanji!!! Also thank you for your sentences and phrases. せんせい, ありがと ございます! まったで! (hope I spelled that right, trying to say: matta to de) ^.^ 🙏🏽
You've come a long way in learning Japanese👏 "Kanji Look and Learn" is an interesting book with lots of mnemonic hints so you're off to a great start! Learning Kanji may seem difficult at first but knowing the basics will make us understand the concept and meaning of the hard ones even when we can't read them. One of the easiest way to learn Kanji is to get accustomed to them. The more you see them, the easier you will remember them naturally. Hope the video are helpful for your study too 😊✨
@@JapaneseEveryday Thank you! The videos are extremely helpful. And I am much obliged for your thoughtful edification. Learning Japanese, or as I like to say in Romanji: Nihongo, is immensely difficult. The hardest thing I have ever did in my life. But it is also rewarding. While I am at work I am trying to find time to listen to Nihongo, read Nihongo, and even think Nihongo. I will not yield to frustrations inducing me to discontinue this epic journey. I must see the Cherry Blossoms in spring! Thank you again.

Thank you for this, it is very helpful. One question though, other sources I have used pronounce the "g" sound differently. You seem to pronounce it "ng" (albeit with the "n" somewhat swallowed). Is this a particular accent / dialect or is it standard throughout Japan?
Good question! In Japanese, we call this Bidakuon/鼻濁音. When “ga” is in the middle of a sentence or a word, we can read it as “nga”. This is a Standard Japanese and you would probably hear in Japanese news, TV series, anime, etc. No need to stress over it though, when speaking casually, both “ga” and “nga” are acceptable in daily life 😊✨
Thank you very much. But, I think, it would be 1000 times better (for understanding) if there was English sentence first and than Japanese translation.
