The concept is based off Peter Pan. This was confirmed by member Hoshi. Yes it is about the fear of growing because Seventeen said they fear is of Carats getting older and moving on to new things and leaving them behind to pursue those new interests. This is the fear of most people in the entertainment industry being relevant and then losing that relevance in time. The clues of the Peter Pan story are no shadow remember Peter had lost his shadow, Growing Pains, Lucky Seven, A day without shadows and Peter Pan are all books that reference members of the Peter Pan story and all these books appear in the MV. The teddy bears represent the youngest Darling child in the story who always carried his teddy bear. The parasol.or umbrella is representing of the second Darling sibling who carried an umbrella. The clocks in the water can be interpreted as representing Hook and the crocodile because the croc had swallowed a clock. The non ticking clock of course represents time standing stationary. The light source Vernon is cupping represents Tinkerbell. The members represent the lost boys and the Darlings represent.the Carats. Remember that in Peter Pan the Darling children left Peter and the Lost Boys to go back home and grow up. The story of the Mv goes that they are in Neverland. Vernon discovers he has no shadow while the others are playing and living carefree Vernon returns he is the one entering in the door not Wonwoo. He shares his discovery with the others. They are shocked and realize their world is not real they each are thinking of ways to keep the world they are living in they go on a search this is the part where we see them walking about in circles. We see that fear and despair is starting to takeover that is when we see members alone and in the scenes with S.coups in the field and Hoshi with the mirror we see the shadows grow. Next we see Jeonghan in the disheveled room when he sees his reflection he sees he is like the room disheveled. We the see Minghao and Jun trapped in the storm of the shadows taking over. Then we see with Joshua and Mingyu the light fades to darkness. Next we see Vernon looking through seeing the other members all with shadows as he has the only source of light left in Tinkerbell. Next we see members fading and disappearing the world shatters and they fall and end up in the darkness there is a sign that says fear is coming. YES! on first watch a lot actually went over my head and i just enjoyed the happy mv and sure some stuff strikes me as weird but it was easily brushed off. the last 10 seconds was POPPING tho it really ties of the whole mv and you just go OH! that makes sense! very masterful of the director
