    I just ordered a Pentax SP Spotmatic from Japan for about $60 USD and it looks brand-new. I also got a 135mm Takumar lens for about $25 USD. Went through Philippine customs without any issues. The Pentax Spotmatic was my first real camera that I bought way back in 1969.

    Hi Dan, I really like your channel. That's why I subscribed to it. I was particularly impressed by the video contribution to the Pentax Spotmatic SP. A camera of high quality workmanship and durability. The same applies to the Pentax SV, Pentax Sia and Pentax ES models. A real joy for analogue photographers to work with these cameras. I like the way you describe the technical details and operation of each camera model. Please keep it up, there are still plenty of analog fans and beginners out there.

    This is one of the best videos on the Pentax Spotmatic, which I also love & use. Your explanation is concise and clear. The photos are very well done. Like your work a great deal 👌

    Hey Dan, I am just beginner and I watched almost all your videos. I learned a lot but it also make me dizzy, all this fantastic camera’s. I think I go for Pentax Spotmatic. Please go on with your chanel!!!You just rock, yeah!!!

      Try to find the Spotmatic F. It uses a PX625 battery that is easier to find than the one I mentionned and it has a hotshoe and last but not least a full aperture metering with Super Takumars. To me this is the best Spotmatic.

    Nice haircut Dan! Glad to see your take on the Spotmatic. Always wanted one of these aesthetic gems.

    Hi Dan, I have just subscribed!
    I love Pentax cameras. I have three X's: KX, MX, and LX. As much as I like Pentax, I prefer to a Miranda as a dedicated M42 camera body. Are you planning to review any Miranda cameras? In my opinion, they are one of the very few cameras that are painfully underrated and can be had for cheap. They have interchangeable finders and front shutter release button. On top of that, they are also fully mechanical.

      @@ShutterKnack thanks for the comment. I actually do not own one of these. Maybe one day I'll borrow one to review.

    Will the Lr44 battery fit the SP without modification ? Edit : I ordered off Etsy 3d printed adapters for the LR44 batteries

    • @MrAnalogDan12
      @MrAnalogDan12  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I doubt the LR44 will fit ! It could fit with an adapter onto the Spotmatic F. For the SP (the older one), you need the 387s battery ($4.99) for one !

      @@MrAnalogDan12 Thank you I will order one asap. And you were correct the LR44 batteries will not fit.

    People whom have the K1000 and K* cameras... Why does the winder not sound like the spotmatic... The winder in the K1000 is spongey and not as tactile... Anyone agree?

      @MrAnalogDan12  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't, but is your K1000 a late one like from the 1990's ? Mine is a 1980 and it's similar to a spotmatic, but later models were different using lower specs materials like plastic and aluminium so that might be the reason why.

      For the moment : 1st Minolta SRT-101 2nd Pentax Spotmatic and 3rd Nikon F

    LR44 batteries are way cheaper and easier. Just toss a rolled up bit of card stock if it needs to not touch the sides.

    • @MrAnalogDan12
      @MrAnalogDan12  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But way too big for the camera. LR44 work on the K1000, not the spotmatic.
