How did Russia implement the Minsk agreements. Did they withdraw their forces from the territories? Did they carry out free and fair elections? Did they prevent ‘separatists’ from bombing or shelling Ukrainian held territory? Did they stop anti-Ukrainian propaganda? We could go through the entire Minsk agreement and there is no part which Russia upheld. The Minsk agreements were a Russian delaying tactic. Their forces had failed to take and hold large parts of eastern Ukraine twice. They used the time to attempt to rebuild their forces, consolidate power in Belarus and plan for a new invasion. They never negotiated in good faith, just like every international agreement they signed up to. The EU and the US were naive to believe the Minsk II was the end.

We must see the so called (military and technological) power of Russia in perspective. Russia is a huge country in square km, but only has 146 million inhabitants. This is 40% of USA or Eurozone. The GDP of Russia however is only 4% of the GDP of the Eurozone + USA, this is equal to the GDP of the small countries Belgium + Netherlands. And less than the GDP of the state of California. Relatively (per capita) the GDP of Russia is very low. Beside that the economy of Russia has signs of a 3th world economy. Half of the income is coming from oil & gas. Based on this, Russia isn’t a world power. And for sure, it isn’t a economic power. This is the reason they can’t build up and maintain a big army. The army they already have is far beyond normal proportions in relation to their GDP. This hurts their budgets and prosperity permanently. In this perspective, Russia is a dictatorship with a huge inferiority complex and dangerous megalomaniac ambitions. The path they chose will be their downfall.
This reminds me of the following story: it takes place in a madhouse. One of the inmates, a man who has lost his mind, wonders what could be behind the high surrounding walls. He takes a ladder and climbs to the top of the wall. He sees a lot of people, coming and going. He says to himself: "It really looks like there are a lots of people in there". That is what these Russian conspiracy theorists make me think of when they tell us that it was the West that attacked Russia. Delusional or liers. Or both. All options are bad.

Remember the great patriotic struggle.. What were Hitler's traits.. Blaming every other country for opposing him. Claiming to be the only one who can represent and unite his nations people and lead them to victory. Showed no shame in dive bombing cities. Became reclusive, surrounded by a small band of military generals, many of which died or were dismissed. He had a poor relationship with his family. Believed strength matters more than open democracy. Political opponents met untimely ends. Started by forming a secret police answerable only to himself. Persecuted LGBT and gay people that he fears because as they undermine a male dominated hierarchy agenda. Willing to conscript young men with limited training. Never actually shown his face close to where the conflict was fought. Proclaiming history backed his countries race as superior to those of his neighbours.. Does any of this sound familiar? OK Ukraine has made spectacularly bad mistakes in how people were treated in the Donbas, but the four thousand deaths claim, well that is counting deaths on both sides .. Misrepresentation of data, that is a fascist trait too.
Recommend they consult the Unionist party in Northern Ireland. They even blame cat farts on the Irish Republic....and all their supporters believe them 😅😅
The perception of a military alliance is one of the issues. The USSR had one the Warsaw Pact but it was imposed on the countries involved. The narrative from the Kremlin sees NATO as a forced alliance which most Russians see as well. The fact two countries until recently did not join but were perfect candidates for joining if NATO were Finland and Sweden. NATO would have long ago dragged them in. You basically have the Baltic Sea in the alliance. Countries ask to join so it is not about NATO but about why they want to join so the shocker here was the last two joining after all these years. The other part related is the reason the war has gone so badly for Putin, the idea that he pushes the narrative and it seems believes himself that Ukraine is a Western puppet. Putin tells his people this and the twisted logic is they will be made to join NATO against their will. . If he was right we would be here now talking about a war that ended 18 months ago but it is not and the fact his Minister for Defence cannot see an end even before 2025 tells you this. The West did not send weapons at first as they expected Ukraine to fall so no point giving them to Putin but another shock was how fiercely the locals fought and in no small part due the the Russian telling a whole country and people are not real. Russian propaganda is aimed at Russians so is extremist and has the opposite effect in the West.
In some ways NATO IS a forced alliance, forced by the Russians and their constant aggression. We saw that very recently when two countries who have maintained neutrality for several decades and had almost no interest in becoming NATO members suddenly virtually PLEADED to join NATO, ASAP, with the percentages of their population's support quadrupling almost overnight to overwhelming majorities. Obviously, I am not arguing with your point, but just pointing out a different point of view on the possible interpretation of 'forced'. :-) Slava Ukraini!

You are such an ignorant fellow. You know nothing about geopolitics and natural resources distribution on earth. In the 90s Russia cooperated extensively with the west and what happened?. The west only used Russia and turned it as a fuel and gas station. Those were that lows in Russia's history. Its the dream of the west to break up Russia into several states just as they did to Yugoslavia and its real. Russia knows what its doing just as the west also knows what they are doing. These Russians demonizing their own country are the weakest links that are easily patronized by the west. They have no idea of what is going on.
Those nations should join NATO since they benefit from its existence.

When watching the protests i remember thinking it would not be long before the Russian army appeared. Those protests were too frightening for the Kremlin to ignore and also gave them something to build a narrative around.
See Putin's address to the NATO Russia Council in May 2002 in Rome. He was perfectly OK with NATO expansion, including the Baltic States.
Still impressed by the propaganda? Protests belong to democracies.

Min. 3:30 - What kind of b... is she telling not mentioning the telefonleak of Victoria Nuland with US Diplomat in Kiev.
You also can read the transcript of BBC:
Nuland: I think Yats is the guy who's got the economic experience, the governing experience. He's the... what he needs is Klitsch and Tyahnybok on the outside. He needs to be talking to them four times a week, you know. I just think Klitsch going in... he's going to be at that level working for Yatseniuk, it's just not going to work.
Pyatt: Yeah, no, I think that's right. OK. Good. Do you want us to set up a call with him as the next step?
.....
Jonathan Marcus: An intriguing insight into the foreign policy process with work going on at a number of levels: Various officials attempting to marshal the Ukrainian opposition; efforts to get the UN to play an active role in bolstering a deal; and (as you can see below) the big guns waiting in the wings - US Vice-President Joe Biden clearly being lined up to give private words of encouragement at the appropriate moment.
Pyatt: Yeah I saw that.
Nuland: OK. He's now gotten both Serry and [UN Secretary General] Ban Ki-moon to agree that Serry could come in Monday or Tuesday. So that would be great, I think, to help glue this thing and to have the UN help glue it and, you know, Fuck the EU.

second best army in the world is now second best in Ukraine- how they explaine it to people?
Thank you for clear information about the Russian invasion!
"Not an inch east" was said to the Soviet Union (if said at all, Gorbachev denies that it was said) - not Russia. Russia controlled the Soviet Union and occupied surrounding countries made up of other ethnic groups who did not want the Russians there and therefore ran to join NATO after the communist Russian empire collapsed. I'm always amused when Russia and China accuse
the west of imperialism - the west, unlike Russia and China gave up their occupied empire after WW2. Well, France kind of did.
Apart from every thing you have said is correct , it is a pleasure to have it rolled out in chronological order to understand the magnitude of bullshit that comes out of Moscow. Thank you. regards Wally

Brilliant ! Keep up the good honest work
The job of the Christian church is not as a privileged propagandist of foreign imperialism and extortion.
Fantastic!!! Glad that tou guys are still out there to show us the real version of Russia.

Russians should stop with day drinking…
This reminds me of the following story: it takes place in a madhouse. One of the inmates, a man who has lost his mind, wonders what could be behind the high surrounding walls. He takes a ladder and climbs to the top of the wall. He sees a lot of people, coming and going. He says to himself: "It really looks like there are a lots of people in there". That is what these Russian conspiracy theorists make me think of when they tell us that it was the West that attacked Russia. Delusional or liers. Or both. All options are bad.

sar Bomba, (Russian: “King of Bombs”) , byname of RDS-220, also called Big Ivan, Soviet thermonuclear bomb that was detonated in a test over Novaya Zemlya island in the Arctic Ocean on October 30, 1961. The largest nuclear weapon ever set off, it produced the most powerful human-made explosion ever recorded.
Russia's Tsar bomba: World's most powerful nuclear weapon of mass destruction. The Tsar bomba exploded about 4 km above the ground and reportedly produced a mushroom cloud 60 km high
However, the Soviet Union developed three AN602 physics packages at 101.5 megatons (Mt) and these are more powerful than the Tsar Bomba, which was downscaled to 51 Mt before being used RDS-220 Vanya.
it was modified to yield 50 megatons, which was estimated to be about 3,800 times the strength of the U.S. bomb dropped on Hiroshima during World War II
The declassified study from the scientists at the Los Alamos laboratory, published in 1947 had first shed light on the question that how many nuclear bombs it would take to destroy the world. According to the study, it would take about ten to a hundred 'super nukes' to end humanity
plus see this NATO attack:
14,500 have died in Libya
165,000 have died in Afghanistan
224,000 have died in Syria
1,200,000 killed in Iraq
It did not shock anyone.
None of these countries received approval.

Russia’s neighbors want to join NATO because Russia keeps invading them!
