This content proved that Filipino designers are willing to support ladies who's competing to any of the beauty pageants even they are not from the Philippines. Sometimes they are less recognized but still willing to give their helping hand to those women who's in need.

Rian spilled the tea here. The issue only gained traction because it happened to a famous designer like M5 this time. This designer is vindicated. He is a very talented designer indeed and very humble at that! ❤️❤️❤️
I remember the days when Philippine representatives are also only told what to wear by the National Director until Pia fought hard insisting to wear a Filipino-designed gown in the finals, with the support of all the Filipino fans. I can imagine how difficult it would be for Canadian representatives to do the same.

my heart cries when he said, canada and thailand is his first country for miss universe... as a filipino i think, who would not want to design for your own country??? but i think he wasnt chosen as he was not that famous enough :( ... i think a gown is a great gown if it fits you and have these impact regardless of who have created it, that is why i admired catriona so well that she insisted to have her team do the work... mark tumang is not a known then, but catriona believes in him and i think every designer deserves every catriona who would support u all the way. i hope rian would do also philippine gown for the future... he deserve the spot ... calling mup!!!! or miss world philippines!!!! lots of unknown great filipino designer there that deserve the spot!!!!

Glad that you still have strong and friendly connection with your Filipino designer. I think if Ms Canada org that time gave him enough time then he could have altered the gown to make it more pageant-ready. But things happen for a reason and what’s important is you gained the love and respect of pageant fans around the world. ❤️

My heart bleeds for Rian. His hardwork is impeccable and undeniably one of the prettiest amongst other pageant gowns ever showcased in an international stage. It’s obvious that he felt awkward and uneasy with the topic knowing hat he had a breakdown after Martha’s time. I could imagine how he was devastated.

Love this video, because its an eye opener to everyone. The sacrifice of our designers that lend their talent and gowns for free. Even shouldered their plane ticket just to deliver the gown without getting any in return.

2 Filipino designers exposed Miss Universe Canada organization, there must really be something wrong with the that organization especially with their National Director! Its sad to hear about your experience Siera and also Rian. But still glad that you two became good friends.

This is the first time am seeing this video but it’s sad that it did not seem to make as much impact 7 months ago as it is doing now. It was great how Siera was promoting him back then and that their unfortunate experiences brought them together. This young artist is talented, humble and does not deserve such horrible treatment. Am glad he has been vindicated and I wish him more success.
I think that many Filipino designers are globally recognized. Thank you Siera for patronizing and featuring the work of a Filipino designer. I hope that someday, Rian could be given more opportunities to make a gown for many other Miss U candidates.
Making a gown is basically a collaborative effort between a designer and the girl. The material to be used, the color, the fit and the like. No matter how good the designer if they haven't had a face to face interaction, then that's going to be really hard. So unfortunate that Siera didn't even had her fitting.
Sadly, he had a post about how devastated he was with Denis and MIss Universe Canada Organization. And how MUC is scamming filipino designers. Any thoughts? would be happy to see a vlog from you about it.

I feel kinda sad to the designer and he is my fellow Filipino also...Honestly its really disappointing or sad in his part that he gave his all such as designing, making the gown and also going to Thailand to meet the candidate but even though she didn't wear his works...He is still very kind, generous and considerate.. I really believe that he will be a famous designer not just because he make a very stunning gowns but also his personality:his heart being open to all circumstances....

This video was posted 8months ago.... The tea has been spilled from him already but the issue only surfaced today. That's sad. But Im glad this issue is now being addressed. Apologies has been given to those who deserved it. But as a Filipino who love the same craft, this is really heartbreaking. I can feel his pain in this interview.

Thank you for bringing up this subject, I believe Rian Fernandez concerns are legit, and national director should take good consideration on the hard work that designer put in. The national director can be transparent and setting the right expectations for the people who are willing to support the candidate to win.

I feel so sad for the designer. I think all his designs are so amazing and it will be great to see you wear his creation on the miss universe stage 😭 totally agree with you that the pageant world is lacking of transparency, can tell he must be frustrated when he knew that miss universe Canada 2018 didn’t choose his gown just becoz his name is not as “big” as other designers but he took much effort to create a stunning gown. 🙏🏻respect !

It is nice that Siera recognizes her Designer. Thanks Siera for your kind gesture. I hope this matter about MU gowns will have a general ruling from MU Org. so things can be put in paper, in written agreement, and in accordance to the guidelines of MU Org. I hope matters will be more organized next MU competition. I wish National Directors will coordinate ways for Fashion Designers to receive some percentage of payment so that the expenses for materials, textile, and shipping fees can be covered.
