Thank you so much for what you and the people of Ireland have given to the world. This video warmed my heart and made me long to return. I have a tear in my eye. 💗
Ahh thank you for this absolutely brilliant video of music songs dancing musicians singer's dancers and to the man who sang that absolutely beautiful song at the end of the absolutely beautiful Video. 10/10
Oh I love drogheda people are very nice wonderful walk around little city. This is fantastic for the city children look wonderful cultures moving forward just like a generations before.
I've never loved another country as much as Ireland. The music in the pubs is spontaneous and tugs at your heart. This type of celebration happens every weekend at the local, after the meal is finished and someone will go to their car and bring back a banjo. Someone else will get their tin whistle or what ever, and the night begins. I am fortunate to live in a part of Australia where similar thing sometimes happens, but if it wasn't so cold, I would not hesitate a moment to migrate to the outback areas of Ireland. A real, fairdinkum community. 💗💗💗
I completely LOVE every second of this video! The music, the harps, the bagpipes, the fiddles, the singing, the accents, the lyrics to the songs, the dancing the talent galore!!! Omg I'm in heaven here!
Enjoyed filming and editing this video of the Fleadh in Drogheda and that so many people are getting so much enjoyment from it.Thanks to everyone, Noel Mohan
It warms my heart to see so many young musicians enjoying their music and keeping their culture alive. Erin Go Bragh! Love, health and respect from Scotland UK.
That was 15+ minutes of pure enjoyment. I was toe and finger tapping throughout. There is something magical in Irish music. It has made my day. (NZ time:- Tuesday morning. 7th December. 8.50 AM)
yes and it's absolutely brilliant to see all the children young and old taking part in music singing and dancing instead of being stuck on a phone or computer. 10/10
Trad music is certainly alive and well in Ireland! All these young people involved in instrumental music, song and dance!!! Just keep it going!! ☘️☘️🎶🎶🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️😉
they make me feel how awful our life here in Syria while people and young playing music in the streets we still here killing each other by the name of god
Beautiful music what a joy, and fantastic dancing come to England please, I will be there 💯🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹It's a long way to Tipperary, so bring it over to England, you Irish are a joy, love you all. Thankyou.😀😃😅😄
Splendid stuff from all sorts of musicians, with lots of youngsters - a real tonic in times when live music is much rarer than it was a couple of years ago
This short film has got my head in a spin, It has got me very worried, While the people in all the other countries are out working hard from early morning to late at night every day of the year, the Irish people from very young children to the oldest persons are hanging out on the streets, in every pub and hall playing most brilliant music, having good times all of the time, nobody is working, the people are happy, well-fed and in no hurry anywhere, they do not worried anymore like we did when I was a young boy,I worked hard all the hours just the keep the hungry Wolfhound from our door, I am worried, the police will not arrest anyone, they want to set down and play alongside the other musician and have fun they also eat tones of ice cream and be happy all t he time. I am worried, they say that the country is flying high it is in great financial shape and everyone is a millionaire, they say that I would need a minimum of 27 million euros to buy a small house. I am worried that I will never be able to return to my old lands, I can not dance, I can not play a musical instrument, I can not sing, I can not tell great stories of long ago, I can not sit down and not worry about the future, What am to do I can no longer return to the old sod, I am not like those happy, shinney ,smiley people who have found all the answer to a truly great life of song, dance and not giving a hoot about tomorrow, it has been my one true wish for the past 87 years to be able to return back to dear old Ireland but this can no happen for the reasons that I have explained
those guys makes me feel how suks we do live the life here in Syria while young playing music in the streets we still killing each other by the name of god viva l'Irlanda
Most of them are filled with suspicion, they believe that everyone is a crook, is a bad person, they want to clasp you in irons and send you to prison forevermore, they say lock them all up. If the police showed proper respect and understanding they would find that there and not that many bad people out there
This event happens during Fleadh week. It is a national week of tradition. If you like the flavour 👆 it takes place every August (mostly) in a selected town. Booking can be difficult due to demand. It's in Mullingar this year 2022.
I was there. I remember most of the performers. The girl on the violin obviously forgot her trousers at 10.30. A bit of good weather and there will be no getting in or out of Mullingar this year
I'm reading Frank McCourt book Angela Ashe's it's great, it's first edition 12th print.☘️👍 This made me look him up on yt and see what else is going on in Ireland. Thanks for sharing this. I'm 45.
Do we the Irish own the river never been there but the orange king William won it I learned in history what county is it in I’m in America a very long time I never heard that song I love it
This compilation shows just how fun the Irish are. Hmm the government must be doing something right to allow people to be free to have all that fun. I love watching videos on Ireland 🇮🇪.
I wasn't looking for this, it came up automatically after listening to "Burke stars Gothic", a rather less cheerful Irishman blessed with the same name as Cardinal Raymond Burke ! This is so very different, so joyful, and it gives (or appears to give) an excellent picture of what Ireland is really like. The whole thing is an incredible combination of talents. I notice that Irish gets modifications to the beginning of its words as well as the end, like Welsh. Does that make Celtic languages unique, I wonder ? No, I suspect Swahili does it too. Is a fleadh like a ceilidh ?
I'm an Englishman who only knows a few words of Irish through involvement with the music and some Irish -speaking friends, but i believe fleadh means 'festival' or something like
@@cannellofglory6968 I can't think of an example of such a PREFIX in English, can you ? Yes, suffixes like in English -ing , -ed, -s, are very common in all European languages, e.g. in French -é, -ons, -aient, and many many more. Even more in Slavonic languages, which add suffixes to nouns too, as if there was no tomorrow. (We just have -s, -'s etc, and occasionally -en ) . But suffixes ! There are only what amount to words, like pre- or anti- , and what are words, like cart in carthorse, or bull in bulldog. Please tell me more. German does that a lot, and has a range of grammatical suffixes like English (e.g. -en, -te, -e, -est like in "Du liebst" = thou lovest").(hast = hast ! ). But no proper prefixes except ge- . Ge- doesn't really mean anything extra. It's as if we said "I have geseen him. Have you gelooked for her ?" But we don't ....

The name of the song is "My Old Walled Town Of Drogheda" . It was written by Pat Gogan and he sings it live here with a local folk group, of which he is a member, and they are called , The Boyne Folk .
There are no singers like Irish singers and no musicians like Irish music no drinkers like Irish drinkers and put them altogether and you have magic
What is so nice is to see kids playing and dancing traditional stuff instead of listening to head banging music of today.
Very nice watching from Australian and Dreaming off Donegal and Ireland

When I see this I realise why I started playing the box instead of the harp. I would not fancy carrying one of those from pub to pub

I drove to this Festival from London and got totally soaked, next time I'm going to use the Ferry.
It's a different world there. I live in SoCal where the cops would rather shoot at you than play music with you.
Loved the one man band!
