I love how you notice the little things on a hike. You include video of insects, flowers, even ants and spiders eating things…who does that? Lol. Really, your perspective about enjoying every moment because you may never return there is well taken. Great video!

Aaron, I love what you did with the logo, but especially the time you took to match and compare the closure locations with their footage in recovery. It’s so gratifying to see these places come back from the fires. And of course that end section overlaid by Clare de Lune. You work hard on these and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Soooooo beautiful--and I am soooo glad you weren't hurt any more than you were, when you got poked by your poles!!! Thank the good Lord!
I had to smile when you commented on how that mountain looked like the Paramount Pictures mountain. I just happen to be blessed to live at the base of the actual mountain that was used to depict the Paramount Pictures icon--Mount Ben Lomond, in Ogden, Utah! If you Google it, you will see for yourself. It is a beautiful mountain! Another cool thing about it is, when it is snow packed, it has a Jack-o'-Lantern-like smile on the south face of it! How cool is that, to have a mountain that "smiles" down on you all Winter long! We are so blessed!
Thank you, Jessica, for another GREAT video! Take care, be careful, and Happy Trails! ❤

The unusual camera angles, the macro bits, that bewitching voice, the overall pace, the music (d### Johann Strauss...)... Gee, you guys are so polished now, it's like you know what you're doing!... 😋
Mount Jefferson has got to be one of the most photogenic mountains anywhere. (Mount Hood's not bad either)
Running with -scissors- trekking poles: "Yeah... don't do that." lol, thanks for the advice, Dixie, very happy that you didn't "shish kebab" yourself there.

Cannot overstate how much your channel has encouraged / inspired / equipped me. I have for many years wanted to return to solo pack trips (really, just hiking in general, for I was so hobbled physically). Finally healthy again and amassing gear - expecting return to the back country early fall. Godspeed

Such a great way of putting it when you said you may never see those sights again and there is so much to see in the world. You never really think about it when you go somewhere that is not close to where you actually live, that you will probably never see those places again.
Live in the moment people. Before you know it it is over, and you're gonna miss this.

Wow. Thank you Dixie. 🙏💕. What stunning videography and exceptional editing with perfect music.👍👍👍. Your poor Mom. 😆 spitting up a mosquito 🦟. 😆 Can’t say I’ve seen that before. 🤣. But your introspection at the end was the best. Yes, we may ‘pass this way but once’, so to be able to really take it all in and embrace every moment possible is a life well lived. This is why being able to see where you have been is so special to us all. We may not get to all the places you have visually gifted us with, but the joy and smiles at seeing the vistas, and the antics of Fancy Mae, your mom and you, ☺️ are treasures. Thank you, again. ❤️

You're right about never being guaranteed your health. After a TKR in 2018, I've been moving down the trail without a care in the world. All of a sudden this November, I took a bad step when one of my dogs pulled coming off a curb, and my right hip has gone south. MRI not good. Likely hip replacement on tap, just for everyday life, never mind hiking. It has occurred my that I may have taken my last step on trail without knowing it. Still planning a section hike for August, but odds of being able to do it are low.

I usually walk here in southern Australia in Winter which is generally 10 to 20 degrees celcius. Best thing is that are no mozzies and no flies. But when you have to walk in late Spring in the places in the "outback" there are lots of flies. Your back can be covered in them. Getting to my point - flies over mozzies any day. I had thought the impalement would be from a broken tree limb that you had run into when you were not paying attention.
We have identified low hanging (mostly at knee height or below) limbs and exposed roots as “hiker stabbers” and “hiker trippers”. Then there are the rocks you kick and make you stumble. When our partner hears it and asked what happened, the response is “Doing a quality check on a rock. That one is good; it’s not going anywhere.”
This was kinda scary. It would not have occurred to me this might happen. Glad you were not more seriously injured. Bet you had a bruise later, too!

I believe, my guard goes down just a little when I am with someone else. I almost fell into a stream on a steep slope and did lose a water bottle while hiking alone. This was in the Montana.

This video was hilarious. When it first started, I said she is beginning to look a lot like her mom. Then I thought, I’d better not say that because no young woman wants to be compared to her mom. Then I saw it was your mom. She is a trooper, at least when she’s not choking on a mosquito. You guys had me laughing, for sure. Great video. How on earth do you find all of those cool insect/but encounters? Amazing.
