Funnily enough I remember my parents telling me all through my childhood that driving is nothing like a video game. I literally learned with a steering wheel and clutch on Test Drive Unlimited, first time I drove a car when I started my driving lessons I could drive with no trouble, never stalled, no traffic mistakes or anything. Turns out driving in real life is just like driving in a video game.
I think I'm one of the few people that have enjoyed the series as a driving simulator all the way back to GTA3 in Liberty City. Observing traffic signs is fine but I do wish there was a slider or "realistic mode" to reduce the outrageous behavior of NPC motorists. Nothing shouts "video game" like a car running a stop sign, cutting you off, slowing to a crawl with their only purpose to impede player progress.
@@acorn861 CDPR got it right with Cyberpunk. No suicidal left turns from traffic. They actually swerve to miss you when the player makes a mistake. More realistic and WAY more fun zipping through the maze of streets.
If u drive in SoCal then a lot of Cali drivers cut u off, run stop signs & drive too slow sometimes whether theyre distracted or something. So pretty realistic.
GTAV is a seriously beautiful game! The fact it still competes and sometimes outperforms the triple-A games of 2024 is crazy. 11 years on and it's still a fantastic piece of art. I think players should drive like this regularly. Take the time to slow down and appreciate the work that went into this game. Otherwise, you may miss the little things

They obviously won’t tho, because why would they when online is so massively profitable for them. It’s a shame. Same with RDR2. I would’ve said “Just take my money” at anything that wasn’t all geared towards online. I don’t like MP, I’ve probably spent two hours max, in those ten years
Gta4 is still way better physics wise. A simple graphics update and people think its a gta6 demo. They ruined so many things about gta5, from Trevor existing, to magic super stop brakes, a tiny ten mile map, removing npc turn signals, letting players cheat with aim bots and invisible clothes, having cars speed be based on the vehicle not the engines and power to weight ratios, crashes didnt even damage cars, The only thing gta5 did right was a guaranteed formulaic method for video game success, team based heists, a in game economy with the ability to buy and upgrade things, different properties and jobs, gun and vehicle customization mainly vehicle customization. The physics are awful, theres no way this game cost 250 million to make, they absolutely lied. Gta4 didnt feel like a 150 million dollar game either, it felt like at most the budget was a million. The game crysis is reported to have cost 22 million, thats a game from 2007 that on its highest settings looks like it came out in 2015. That's seven times less than take two interactive claims gta4 cost to make, and 14 times less than what they say gta5 cost.
Everyone has tried to follow laws and ngl I just drove around the map for 3 hours straight in the city, on the freeway all the while following law, it does feel relaxing...unless you run into a broken as npc who acts like the san Andreas driver 💀, happened to me and I was like fk it, if anyone dies it's you and followed that NPC on my faggio .
I'm pretty glad i got this game back in Christmas last year, It's so much fun! Feels relaxing to me to drive around Los Santos and take in the view, I love the landscape they did! Still a masterpiece, 11 years later!

You could mod them, perhaps? There's a handful of mods out there that changes traffic behaviour. Mileage may vary tho (no pun intended).

As a kid, I've always wanted to play this not for its criminal things, The realistic gameplay and driving makes me want to play it.
