I hope the titans do not disappear completely from the game when defeated, just retreat to their home section. It would be a shame with all the development and nice atmosphere the titans and the malstromes produce. I just went to Taranis yesterday in VR and this was absolutely awesome to fight the titan and enjoy the visuals and sounds.
I hope it too, and i don't think they will vanish, it would be a huge waste of development time.
I wish there will be a final showdown at HIP 22460. Then they'd retreat to their home region, but occasionally raid the human settlements in the nebulas.
Hear me out they should not retreat to their home systems, rather the remaining Titan(s) or at least their attacking forces should attack human colonies in distant nebulae like the Pleiades.

@@Brasswatchman If I can remember well, the Titans came from different directions around the Bubble, and not from a single point. However it is a generally accepted theory that the Thargoids arrived (at least the hives we encountered in the past 100 years) from the Barnard's Loop. It is basically a locked nebula. Between the Barnard's Loop and our Bubble lies the Witch head Nebula, galactic west to it the California Nebula, both claimed by the Thargoid expansion. Then galactic north to them there is the Pleiades, the last stop before our Core Systems. So Thargs could retreat to any of these systems. We could even fight them back towards their theorized home nebula.

A few corrections to your last video worthy of adding to video comments I believe: The Titan Damage Resistance is not a function of the damage done to them - it is a function of how many controlled and invasion systems exist around them. That is why Taranis is lower than the others. AX forces are focusing on Taranis because:
A) It has the fewest occupied/invasion systems, hence the lowest damage resistance
B) It has the shortest supercruise distance to the Titan proper (minimizing interdictions)
In short, it's presently the easiest Titan to hit.
Last but not least, FDEV at some point had said on stream that surface sites are NOT crashed Titans, despite them looking similar, but, for the life of me, I can't find out that source to point out to you guys. If you ask around though I'm sure someone will.

The torus happens on every damage, not only if you destroy the core. I think every damage matters to the core.
I haven't even started yet!

Although I’m not the biggest fan of this Thargoid saga, and I’m already a bit tired of the whole game unfolding around this war for the past 2 years, I acknowledge that a visit to the Titans, or a hunt for the Orthrus, from time to time, can be interesting.
I don’t want to see the titans or the thargoids disappear from the game, I just wish they were defeated and forced to retreat from the bubble, back to the systems they traditionally controlled.
I think this would be the most consensual solution… on one hand the ax fighters would always have the thargoids within their reach, on the other hand the players who don’t want to get involved, would have their space back, without feeling obliged to participate in the war.
And, by the way, maybe the devs would dedicate themselves to developing other content not related to thargoids? Wouldn’t that be a nice change of pace?

I've never actually seen a Titan other than on TH-cam. When they arrived i decided to play again after many months away, only to find the new content was locked behind a grind!' Why would they do that? Well I couldn't be arsed so didn't bother.
idk about that, its just a couple items gathered from the maelstrom. if you dont want to do that just buy them from player carriers. They are being sold all over.
@@ZimBeckler There's the anti-pulse widget (whatever that's called) and the corrosive sinc thingy. I found that some stuff could be purchased and other stuff that could not (I think). I made a few green relics and made a start, but I just don't want to play Elite and have it feel like I'm doing a job again. I've honestly overdosed on doing that. And to this day I just can't face it. I do now play a bit more, but I stick to easy relaxing gameplay now.

Think its going to take longer than a week to take down taranis. The outer red circle has started to slowly shrink, looks like it is down by 5% so far after a day and a half , but there are also multiple rings inside that so do they also need to be reduced too?

Defeating all titans for mid april is very optimistic, let see first when the weaker, Taranis, is effectively defeated

Please, FDev don't let the Titans end with this lame ass gameplay. Once they are "defeated" let us board them, this is the last Thargoid update for a while let it be memorable, let us board it and meet the actual aliens inside, see what an activated map room looks like. Two years of Thargoid updates can't end in us shooting a bunch of beam lasers for fucks sake.
Could crash onto the ammonia world below for all we know. I'll wait and see what happens first.
There are 8 out there, so FDev has options. I said somewhere earlier that I would like to see them crash one onto a body to later explore, also they could be locked in orbit to be boarded and have Odyssey players go in and search for humans to cut out and rescue, and just explore about. Last ones could get weakened and decide to GTFO and we can try to track them down and maybe finish some off elsewhere. Or have a truce if the goid-whisperer shows up again. We'll see. There's also the Guardians and their tech.....
Totally agree here. Doing so would leave a bitter taste of yet another incomplete story arc.
@@CMDR_Shokwave The Titans will come back in some way because it is impossible for Frontier to scrap the gameplay related to them completely - they worked on it for a year and a half. The Titans will return and a BGS system with Thargoids will be introduced possibly so that the Titans can reoccur is some sort of logical way.
The full process to destroying the Titans is extremely important. If it is just this - 5 hours of grind for 2 modules only to go there, hit some heat vents and then spend an entire week to strike a little golden tower with beam lasers for 10 seconds at a time, well I dont think many people will want to waste their time with that or enjoy to do that over and over.
It HAS to be more than this. 😢😢 It has to so that future players are inspired to go through all that grind and have something exciting as a pay-off.
