Hi Guys I was born on the island back in 1947 and stayed there until 1981 then i moved off the island to live in Cosham , But you are right it's is a great place to visit and explore, so many stories i could tell you of times gone by.
@@donnysweekendvanlifetravel7854 well not so far then enjoy when Yr here if we ever meet il get the beers in at the pub lol have a lovely time when Yr here
Just the other side of that pub, the Ferry Boat Inn, is a remnant of WW2, a piece of the Mulberry harbours that were towed across to Normandy just the day or so after D-Day. I cannot recall the exact reason this bit is still there, I assume she broke her tow while inside Langstone harbour and grounded herself, and just got left there. A tad different from the usual pill-boxes still left on many british beaches. Nice video.
Great video Donny looks like you had a great time love it down there used to go fairly often growing up
It's a nice place and no hight restrictions so campers motorhomes can park with ease
That looks like a delightful place to have a short getaway. 🙂👍🏻. God bless. 🙂🙏🏻
